Aggie fans, you out there?

On their boards they all seem to agree that if they are healthy than it is an easy W.

They seem to think winning by 7-10 at 75%, 14 or so at 80-90% and by 3 scores or more at 100%. Haven't really seen anyone talking positively about us.

Aren't they still upset about signing 2 5 star QB's and then watching them transfer out?

I have some family in Texas, met many TAMU fans while there.

The stadium they all want.to see the most in the SEC is Neyland.

Many of them believe that UT fans are the only ones that may be able to match their noise and participation level.

But as far as this years game..they do not think Chavis will let us come back from behind like other teams have..so feel if they jump out to a lead in beginning then they win.

But if we play well the entire game then it will be a fight to the finish, maybe possible overtime..

None I have spoken with think we can pull out ahead of them..they have an extreme amount of confidence in their defense and chavis

I am torn because I have been a Vol fan since I was a kid, but I went to A&M. I dislike Sumlin due to his attitude towards everyone. He is kind of an ahole. Chavis is awesome, and in my opinion, the best DC we've ever had. I think his defensive numbers have shown how important he is to our success.

Dobbs? Depends on which guy shows up. Does he show up for two halves?

Sumlin is certainly a smarta$$ that I know lol.

Chavis is the best we've ever had as well. Maybe Shoop changes that if he gets a healthy team.

Your run game has come out of nowhere! Itll be a challenge for our lbs.

Dobbs has maybe beem the most consistent player we have.

I think these two teams are exactly the same when playing full go. Aggies have home field advantage.

We might drop this one. Might.. I say might. because these Vols don't quit.
Thanks for your response.

Hey guys... I hope to see a ton of orange this week! I'm thinking a 7-10 point A&M win simply because I think the Ags are a more complete team.... no glaring weaknesses unlike the last two 5-0 starts. We shut down the run and make you play behind the chains a lot. A&M is the leader in TFLs in the SEC and #2 is 17 TFLs behind us.

I do worry about over aggressiveness in the secondary and that Dobbs could hitch and go us a few times.

They may not be on VolNation just yet - but on their forums they are very (over) confident!

They have a right to be confident. They are undefeated, and they are playing at home. Plus, we have spotted 4 opponents to double-digit leads. I would be confident, too. Its our job to go in there and play 4 quarters of fundamentally sound football.

I remember when we stomped them in a Bowl game several years ago, and I was reading one of their forums. I found most of their fans to be pretty classy people. That may have changed, I don't know. But they certainly weren't obnoxious like most Florida fans are.

You and I agree. Flip a coin. It all depends on what team shows up and can get their offense going. I really have no idea, and would not bet this game with someone else's money.

As for stadiums - Both Neyland and Kyle are as good as it gets. I've been to both many times. They both get so loud your ears basically stop working, and everything is just buzzzzzzz.

If we get in a lot of 3rd a long situations, we win.

...or, is 3rd and Chavis only a figment of Vol fan's imagination?

He had that issue at LSU for a while too.

Saturday there were a few 3rd and Shoops!

I've lived in Austin for 15 years and have many Aggie friends and employees. As long as you're not a longhorn or red raider they're pretty pleasant people. :). They are a great cultural fit for the SEC.

I expect one of the better visiting fan experiences this weekend.

No, it is real.. Still, the dude has us at a top 20 defense from like 109th. I would not trade 3rd and Chavis for anyone else!

Nice report. Thanks for posting.
If we win by one or thirty, I'm happy.

I don't really know what to expect.

I've lived in Texas most of my life and I've noticed that Aggie fans seem to be the most friendliest and humble. It's probably because the program has always played second fiddle to Texas.

I disagree.. It is about 50/50 with some thinking we finally have a team, and the rest think Knight is meh. Our running game is the big surprise. If we are able to establish the run, I like our chances. If not, and Knight is forced to throw, it could get ugly. Our D has been really good in man coverage.

you haven't seen a group of receivers like Tennessee.

Welcome! Hope to have a good, injury free game between two good teams.

One thing I will point out, UT's offense is designed to make defenses (specifically DEs and OLBS in a 3-4 scheme) reactionary rather than up-field aggressors. Misdirection and zone read is the name of the game. If UT executes, you won't see a ton of negative plays made by your DEs.

The biggest hinderance to our scheme is push from DTs on the interior, great pursuit, open field tackles, and gap discipline. Unless UT is in obvious passing situations, your DEs won't pin their ears back, they will be forced to play the run.

Now, the question is, can UT excecute their offense... that has only happened on about 30% or 40% of our drives I would say. It will take e better effort to move the ball on you guys.

The only thing that gives me decent confidence is we made Florida's "all world" defense look non-existent at times.
