Agents of top coaches

It's so shocking to me that miles name comes up in almost every thread. You do realize he was fired by a rival sec team for being a terrible coach (and honestly for being dumb). I mean, what about that says he's our guy? Jeeze. What's next is there will be a thread saying we should wait until mcelwayne is fired and good after him. Lol

Oh, I love Righteous Indignation. Les was fired for being dumb? I actually thought he was a good coach, really good recruiter. I don't see a lot of weaknesses. Not my top choice but worth being on the list.

Who knows if Gruden would be a great college coach, but I’d take a chance on him. Saban, Spurrier, Kelly etc. all sucked at the NFL level.

Yes, proven winner only Saben has been better in last 10 years in SEC

Year off to reflect and see his faults.

I'll take that all day everyday. He is proven!!

Ask Miami how there hire from Georgia is going after he was fired for similar reasons as Miles

Right now Richt is doing exactly like he usually did at Georgia. Starts out 5,6,7 and 0. The reason Georgia fired him is because he always started great but somewhere along the way they would always drop one or two they shouldn't. If you're looking for a guy that consistently wins 10 per year but can't win the big ones or lose to someone he shouldn't which prevents you from getting to the big one, then he's your guy. Personally I want someone who can not only get us to the SEC Championship but actually win it once in a while and give us a chance to compete for the title. Richt could never do that

We all love the names of top coaches at successful other schools. Who wouldn't it invites excitement!

Keep in mind agents will float names out there just to get great coaches at top 20 programs now contract extensions and raises.

Don't get played like a fiddle in your hopes of current successful coaches at programs they have built up to powerhouses.

It's a $$$ play for them where they are at. Not to come rebuild Tennessee and complete with Alabama.

GBO and ready for Tennessee to regain its place.

Another post short on English and long on twitter fingers.

You would rather have grass eating game blower. So you realize Miles got fired from LSU with good reason. Game day coaching slightly better than Lyle. If we are going to gamble go get Wilson.

Wouldn't we be hiring someone who got fired for some good reason? Think about that for a second. Either we hire someone's "fahred Butch", someone brand new with no experience, or someone out of retirement that may also be a "fahred Butch", or is walking away from a good job for our job who would be dumping us at some point.

Frost has the most upside, imho.

I would enjoy that hire. Still don't think the 4th hire after firing Flumer should be someone without MAJOR proven track record at a power 5 school.

Very comcerned about another up and coming offensive mind right now.

Worry about learning how to win in the SEC for a few years

Les was fired. Richt was fired. Both proven SEC winners that stayed too long. Important to note LSU changed AD's in Miles tenure.... that's important

How's Miami doing with its fired SEC proven winner that stayed to long at Georgia?

I would take Les Miles over an unproven coach anytime. But, Chip Kelly is the obvious answer. If Chip won't come then maybe Gus Malazan has had enough at Auburn. Dan Mullen is better than Butch too.

As for the U? Well, they still haven't lost a game so far this season.

I'm anti Gruden. Too many red flags for me.

Miles or Kelly prefer Miles but Tennessee just needs a successful proven COLLEGE head coach.

Kelly leaves a wake of destruction where he goes and Gruden had too many red flags? ..... by the way.... Kelly isn't coming and neither is Miles

There will be plenty of great coaches available, as soon as the NFL collapses! Gruden included!

I think they need to take a close look at the NC State coach (Doeren). NC State is currently first in their division. They are off this week but take on ND next week and Clemson the week after that IF they beat ND (I think they will) and keep it close to Clemson, (already defeated FSU and Louisville, and first game loss to SCe was just an anomaly) I think he deserves to be among the top considerations. I also suspect he would be interested in becoming an SEC coach. I don't think Miles or Kelly would really want to be at Tennessee.

Better than Miles for sure. Got NIU to a BCS game. Buyout is cheaper than Petrino or Brohm.
