After what I’ve seen, I still think we make a bowl game

We will have to VASTLY improve to get 6 wins. The offense was not decent today. West Virginia is one of the worst defenses in the nation and they shut us down.

I know, I was to optimistic for this year, but I still think think we can get better as the season goes on.
Thoughts?
Not a chance. Who are we beating in the SEC? Maybe, maybe Kentucky? Maybe? That’s it.

RB had 6 yard per carry. Qb had 80% completion percentage. No turnovers.

There were some positives
Same primary issue as last year. DL is OVC level which leads to poor secondary play. JG looked very good, as did Jordan and our WRs. OL is HighSchool level bad. Florida will embarrass us, again, in 3 weeks.

5-7 or 4-8 still seems most likely. By the time this team staggers through an 0 for October,it could be even worse.

Saw nothing today to suggest otherwise.

They were on the first two drives. After that they did a fairly good job at both run blocking and pass protection.

A 2-10 Delaware State FCS team put up more yards and points on West Virginia last year and that was West Virginia's best defensive game of the season. 301 total yards was horrible against that team.

Pruitt just said he thinks we will get better by October. I have to trust in coach until I feel otherwise.

Unusual for a head coach to not bother looking at his team's schedule.

I guess they can conceivably improve but the competition is going to be a smidge better too.

Agreed. I honestly believe that we will be 7-5/8-4. We definitely lose to WVU (duh), Bama, UGA, Auburn. Only toss up is Florida for me. Now I know people will also say Mizzou and USC, but the reason I don’t consider them toss ups is that we will be full steam with Pruitt’s program by then. I know it is just WVU, but our team showed that ball control will get it done. If we beat Florida, lookout 8-4. If we lose, hello 7-5.

Humidity wasn’t this bad last year.
