1. Why do we need to pay a position coach over 450K??

2. What do we need more, more 5 stars that don't pan out or more 3 stars developed into 5 star talent??

3. What do most of us (including myself) really know about what some of these coaches can really do based off of not knowing who they are??

what exactly happened tonight? I've been gone for the past week w/out internet and haven't been able to keep up with much of anything.

Right, three stars developed into five stars. There wouldn't likely be enough development of those three stars to compete with Vandy for the SEC cellar.

Shoot, I am lost as well. What is happening in details with coach O and Gonzo?

Right, three stars developed into five stars. And just how many of those would there be? Not enough to compete in the SEC.

Those are the guys that help you win championships. The 5-star guys help you win the recruiting championships.

Those of you just joining us: missed a hijacking of a thread with highly explicit language by classless bayou trolls resulting in a deletion of a thread and multiple bannings.

Three star players won't help you win championships in the SEC, at least not a quantity of three stars.

I wasn't referring to the entire team being three stars, I was making it a point to recall the fact we have won the recruiting championships but not the real championships. I honestly don't care if a bunch of 1 stars play here if they can win a championship. Hell, when Wyoming beats us, we have issues. Just glancing at our 2007 class and Wyoming's, we have a major fail at player development.

I agree with you Eric.. No one will know till Game 1...

Heck, We were high on last years team and look where that got us...

We have to let Kiffin have his way and set up his staff... We will be fine...

Here's a couple of sub questions to complement #2: (a) Why do we put too much emphasis on the stars? (b) Why are there no recruiting services make final star rankings for classes after every four years? ie 04 graded in 08.

Orgeron is about as solid as we'd ever want at developing DL talent. Being a world class recruiter was just another great attribute.

Tennessee will never recover from the loss of these coaches, I predict doom and gloom for 2009 and want to be the first to ask for the resignation of the person responsible.

Wrong. First, nothing is done yet and second there are still good coaches available as well as on the staff already.
