After the Kentucky loss

We’ve got 5 games left. I see us going 2-3 at best. Lose to KY, somehow ugly a win against SoMiss, lose to LSU, then ugly a win against MO, lose to Candy. We could lose to MO; they can score and we can’t. So 1-4 is possible.

I believe there is something in the works and will be announced Sunday after Butch is canned. Les Miles.

Les would be surprising. Finebaum asked John Adams on Monday who he thought would replace Butch...he said hard to tell, but history says a late 30s-mid 40s up-and-comer. Frost will get an offer, but you're gonna pay 5 mil for an unproven coach.

They will wait and see how many people show up for the southern Miss game. If the stadium is pretty full they will wait till after the LSU game to see how many people show up for that game. When there is only like 60000 to 70000 in the stands they will fire Jones. If attendance stays good they will fire him at the end of the season or we will get another year of Butch Jones.

Will Butch be fired or does Currie still sit on his ass and do nothing?

Don't think it's all on Currie. He's waiting on a green light from Haslam, and Haslam is too busy with other matters right now.

Personally I think it will take a loss to Ky, Vandy, or Mo. to get the ball rolling. Till then, Butch is secure.

I don't think it matters what game he wins or loses at this point. If that were the case he'd already be gone. They'll probably lose this weekend, but you'll get to enjoy another Butch press conference Monday.

bUTch will be fired once we are no longer eligible or a bowl game.
We are now 3 - 4 and need 3 wins to be bowl eligible. We lose to Ky. We beat Southern Miss and get our 4th win. We beat Missouri and get our 5th win. We lose to LSU & in our final game we lose to Vandy.
After the Vandy game, we are officially not eligible for a bowl game and at that point bUTch will be fired..

So, bUTch will not be fired until the end of the season!!!

every week i hear it'll be Sunday or Monday after we lose to "X" (insert team) , so until it happens and i get a push notification from bleacher or ESPN, i have zero expectation it will....

Currie is smarter than most give him credit for... he is waiting on the end of season or close to it and have Butch resign to take the Ole Miss job and let THEM pay US for the buyout rather than US pay Butch! Wait and see!

Allowing the team to fall back into a status of a losing season and losing the extra practices to save money is NOT smart. The toughest thing for a new coach to do is change the culture of a team. If they fire him now, they maintain the little momentum that he has created. Letting him stay, will just undo that. An interim coach almost always gives the team a shot in the arm and a guy like Brady Hoke, who is anxious to get back into coaching, will give his all to make a good impression to potential employers.

I don't venture in the Gruden threads due to the astronomical sense of false hope (I check it daily :birgits_giggle:). There is no answer for a coach that should've been fired weeks ago. It's possible that Butch is still here in the spring pumping up Team 122. After all, our athletic department apparently is ok with mediocrity.
