After the Kentucky loss

Will Butch be fired or does Currie still sit on his ass and do nothing?

Apparently, a lot of decision-makers and boosters and others advising Currie are advocating that no good can come of firing Jones in-season. He’s being advised, even urged to wait until the end of the season. Doug Mathews said this again today on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville and apparently on board with this line of thinking. Said “firing a guy to make everybody feel better is not a good reason to fire a guy” among other things.

So, don’t expect to see Jones gone until after the Vandy loss to close the season. I’ve already resigned myself to the likelihood.

You fire a guy so that you hire a guy.

Well, they can go ahead and announce he is not returning, then they officially begin a coaching search.

The fact the boosters are advising Currie to keep butch. Quite the opposite

You'll see when only 40k show up for the southern miss game

I'm not sure how these statements are related to each other. Would love to hear how you know the boosters are not advising him to wait. Not being an arse but you're not given any information to backup you're insider information, I assume it is insider information since you are so sure.

Source? I’m only passing along what I’ve heard Mathews and others who cover the program have publicly said. Who are you hearing from?

And if you think only 40k are showing up in Neyland for ANY Vol football game you’ve lost your mind. 70-75k, yeah, ok. But 40k? Not a chance.

You fire a guy when you know you are firing him. No point in stringing it out. They can't let this uncertainty continue, we have an early signing class that somebody should be trying to salvage and these kids want to know something.

It does no good to keep him around like a nasty infection. You knock that thing out as quick as you can.

I said after he wasn’t fired last week, if he coaches Kentucky, he’s here until the end of the season. Might as well buckle up, and hold on.

We’ve got 5 games left. I see us going 2-3 at best. Lose to KY, somehow ugly a win against SoMiss, lose to LSU, then ugly a win against MO, lose to Candy. We could lose to MO; they can score and we can’t. So 1-4 is possible.

I believe there is something in the works and will be announced Sunday after Butch is canned. Les Miles.

Regardless if you fire him Sunday or not, it's unlikely that a new coach is hired before Dec 10th.
