Wow, look at the Big 12 fan all high and mighty after OK finally found a team it could beat in the BCS game. Go Big 12. You're so good teams are leaving you left and right.

Here we go again......just like last year. Predicting wins/loses even before NSD is here. Me.....I'm just happy with a stable coaching staff. Rebuilding our team will take longer than most of you are realizing. A 7-5 finish next year might be a pipe dream 'cause all the other teams will get better excepting Vandy and UK. We are ranked, what, 10th in the SEC in recruiting right now?

That's the weakest out of conference ever.

I find it difficult to defend Tennessee's scheduling next season. In fact, I have repeatedly voiced my disgust with it.

2012 isn't much better.

I'm not buying it.

Nobody is, most likely including the Texas fan.

I have to be honest, I've watched enough of UF and UGA cake-walking their OOC games to think we should do it too any way.

Tennessee would have fared no better against an annual match-up with Florida State than we have against the rotating programs we have traditionally played. I doubt we would have done much better against Tech, either.

I do believe that premier programs should try to schedule one name OOC game per year, but I find no fault if that game is against your in-state rival. If you want to pick on a team for consistently scheduling down, Auburn, until very recently, fit that bill. 2004 seems to have taught them a lesson, though.

IMO we start off 4-1 & ranked going into the LSU game.

Montana - W
Cincy - W
@ Florida - L (Close)
OPEN
Buffalo - W
UGA - W
LSU - L (Close)
@ Alabama - L
South Carolina - L (This could end up being for the SEC East)
MTSU - W
@ Arkansas - W
Vandy - W
Kentucky - W

Finish 8-4 & 2nd in the SEC East.

He sounds like an Ohio State fan, doesn't he?

Yes. And it's why I hate them. I moved up to Ohio when I was 17 and had to listen to OSU fans talk about Big 10 dominance. Funny how when it was no longer just being handed to them at the end of the year by pollsters that they haven't won jack since 2001 and needed a late flag thrown on a bogus call. To this day my OSU friends still say "it was the cleats man. You guys switched out in the TN game. We lost to TN because we were slipping." Whatever man.

To all you OSU fans on here ... after tonight it's 0-11. Get a clue. Speed kills and you guys are just too slow.

JM I think we crush FL. I mean crush by 21 or more.

By the way, I know your leaving soon. Good luck. And remember, you can't get a Hero's welcome if you don't come home ... so keep your head down and come home.

Once again, the UGA and USC games will be crucial to the overall success of the season. I think we beat UGA but drop a close one to USC (Unless Lattimore gets hurt).

Texas Non-Conference Schedules:

2013 - New Mexico State, BYU, Ole Miss
2012 - Wyoming, New Mexico, Ole Miss
2011 - Rice, BYU, UCLA
2010 - Rice, Wyoming, UCLA, & Florida Atlantic
2009 - Louisiana Monroe, Wyoming, UTEP, UCF
2008 - Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Rice, Arkansas
2007 - Arkansas State, TCU (8-5 with 4 conference losses), UCF, Rice

That's not exactly a murder's row of opponents...

Richardson and Marcus will play immediately and will open up a run game. We will not be a great running team but we will atleast be a good running team. Arnett will play immediately as will Young (yes, I said Young) and our passing game will be nearly unstoppable. If Loften makes it in and we pick up Moore both will start day one. We will also have our injured DT's back plus the new Juco DT. We will be so much better than this year it will not be even funny. I'm not going to predict an overall number but I do think we will contend for the East the next year and I think we might even win it.

This post got me fired up. Go VOLS!

you project 5 true freshmen to play (I assume start??) and Tennessee compete for the east??

Wonder who last team was to win a division in SEC starting 5 true freshmen?? :)

Trying to be realistic, but come on! Beat Bama, Florida, LSU, even Arkansas! In your dreams!! We're just not as good as them. We can't recruit. Nobody really wants to come to the University of Tennessee. Not really known as a strong program.

Captain Obvious here...the key games are going to be Georgia, LSU and USC. Florida, 'Bama and Arkansas are going to be tough on the road. Georgia, LSU, 'Bama and USC in a row is a killer...good news is 3 of the 4 will be at home. Injuries will always be a factor and you never know who or when they will hit...only that they will.

People pay money for this kind of insight...
