"Hell yeah, and uh-huh". He said it real loud too. And we are all convinced that he meant it. It excited me to say the least.

The interviews were entertaining and full of what you typically hear in the preseason.

Not worth putting a whole lot of stock in either way.

The coach and players are saying the same thing I did after the O&W game.. I saw the difference in our players from last year. They have that attitude this year that you need in order to win those big games.

Anyone who has actually played the game understands how important that attitude is for a team. Without it, we repeat last year... with it, the sky is the limit.

10 wins if not more...

Having said that, based on what I saw from CDD during media days, I think he thinks this team has the chance to be special and he's trying his best to downplay it. However he's having trouble COMPLETELY hiding his excitement. He has a completely different tone. He's very confident. He's very positive.

You answered your own question. The guy was honest from the start. He told us that UT was in bad shape. We all knew it but somehow some fans expected him to lie instead... so they could feel better for awhile then bash him later.

There is some "coach speak" here to the extent that he has little to lose by pumping the team. If he poor mouths and loses... he's gone. If he has bravado then loses... he's gone. I'm not saying he isn't truly excited and optimistic about the team. But there is liberation in knowing that he can be honest about it and it ultimately will not matter unless he wins.
