During media days, how does everyone else feel about this season? Has it changed your perspective any? None of this is coach speak, but is the exact message that the players are getting. Tennessee is done taking **** and getting kicked around. Who's excited? 43 more days, until it's Football Time, in Tennessee! This is the year we surprise everyone. We will get on a toll, beat UF the UGA then take aladamnbama by storm. It's going to be an amazing your and spectacular to watch.

You know how you plan a vacation, and you wait on it all year? And you look over all the brochures and dream about what a great time you're gonna have? And sometimes you do have a great time! It's everything you planned on it being. But sometimes the date on the calendar rolls around and you get there and it rains the whole week. That's how I feel. I am so excited and pumped!!! I can't wait!!! But part of me is still afraid I'm gonna get rained on.

Considering it has been 8 years, we are at home, they are down, and we have an awesome looking offense- we have at least got to find a way to beat Florida!

The tone was a whole lot more confident from the head man, and the players seemed like they understood the importance of what happened last year. Outside of that, it affects nothing of what I expect out of this season.

You're a true vol, and a good kid, so I tell you what I'm gonna do for you.

I'm ordering up some good weather for you. It'll be a good season, there'll be ups and downs, but trust me...these boys are winners. There'll be loads of sunshine.

I don't get why someone would change their perspective on the upcoming season based on what anyone SAYS. How does that honestly change anything. They still have to prove it on the field and until they do, I'm saying 8-4. Same thing I said 3 months ago.

Having said that, based on what I saw from CDD during media days, I think he thinks this team has the chance to be special and he's trying his best to downplay it. However he's having trouble COMPLETELY hiding his excitement. He has a completely different tone. He's very confident. He's very positive.

Because it tells the fans of his level of confidence. And THAT in itself instills confidence.

It's Basic Leadership 101. Confidence up top breeds confidence in the lower ranks. Plain and simple.

Pretty sure there are 13 other fanbases excited about what their coaches and players are saying at media days. It's not worth crap come September.

After the last few years I would be very happy with a 8-4 season, but I think this team has the potential to do better. If we start out with wins over NC State & UF then I think it could be a special season.

Couldn't agree more. There's a confidence in this team and the coaching staff that I haven't seen since Dooley got here. The talent and depth is in place now. It's about putting it all together this season.

Hope the players were listening to the speech as much as we were so that it pumps them up as much as it has for us! Go Vols!
