I read that the recruiting dead period ends after Jan 4th. What can we expect after that period? I know they can still make calls during the dead period ( 1 per week I think ). I'm sure we will hit the road again hard and get some OV going. Any idea who will be first to pull trigger and commit after the 4th? Anybody we expect to commit during OV? Just curious.

Carl Lawson visits on the 11th and I have a feeling he could commit on his OV. I have no info, just a hunch.

We can expect recruits to decommit & recommit, decommit, recommit, til NSD.

Be prepared for rumors and more rumors , lying, cheating, counter productive criticism , and knee-jerk reactions. That just about covers it.

Expect near insanity from players, coaches, and fans following recruiting. It will be a mad dash to the finish line.

I happen to think we're going to have a great class when NSD gets here. I see the glass as half full---not half empty---------shoot me if you must. I just love Tennessee and feel we are finally on the right path.

We'll hear a lot about how the prospects really enjoyed their visit and TN gave them something to think about. Some will have our hopes raised as they sound very promising for a commit, others not so much. We'll get a few commits after the weekend visits and as NSD closes and the higher ranked prospects pick their teams, the TN class will become much clearer. JMO

First year following recruiting pretty hard.. perhaps someone could answer a few questions I have:

Based off of National Letter of Intent Home Page , Can we still sign JUCO players after 15 Jan? Furthermore, do nearly all players sign on the Initial Signing Date (06 Feb), or do several still wait until the Final Signing Date (01 Apr)? Finally, assuming most of our recruits sign on 06 Feb, is it common for them to continue decommitting/recommitting until 01 Apr, or is it pretty typical that once they sign on the Initial Signing Date they are pretty much a lock? Thanks!

Only the JUCOs that graduate early can sign before NSD.

And NSD is more of a ceremonial thing to make a kid feel special. You’ll see some of the big-name recruits push theirs back for more publicity, but that’s not common.

I think once they sign the loi that they are contractually bound to the university for a year.
