We are winning but it still feels like I’m waiting on some portion of the game to say we dominate and can ride that to a big win.

This is all fine and dandy, but the real test of where we really are comes this weekend @ Georgia.

Win that, and I'll jump on the SEC East contender bandwagon.

Every SEC game is a test. I love how some of our fans will “withhold a final verdict” until we play xyz team and dominate them. As if every other game is a scrimmage. Come on man

1. Tennessee and our three biggest rivals being the only undefeated teams left sets up a really exciting season
2. LOVE those stats about us taking care of the ball
3. Kentucky has rushed for over 275 yards a game and is 0-2? That’s.... wow. I’d expect that sort of stat from a service academy or Georgia Tech 3 years ago
4. UGA’s defense is just as scary as we’d thought it’d be in preseason. Next week is a big test for our O. Gotta keep that turnover free play cause we need every opportunity we can get to score

Did you see the double stupidity of the RB for Kentucky yesterday, #10 I think. On the same drive he broke a long run and started celebrating before he got to the end zone and slowed way down and got tackled. Then a couple of plays later from the 1 yard line he was stopped about 2 feet short and tried to reach across the goal line and had it slapped out of his hand.

#1 - #4 are surprising and probably not expected by most of us prior to the season. #6 - that's JG's true strength and we will need him to continue to be competitive against the big boys. #9 & #10 - that UGA defense is for real. I hope we can move the ball on them. Best defense is a good offense.

Former Alabama safety Roman Harper basically said the same thing on SEC Football Final. He said that we’re scary because we’re winning but haven’t played our best.

All that's purtty on paper, but we still ain't beat anybody.

Yep think our confidence is going up which is a good thing but as you said, I seen a SEC Power Rating of the 14 teams in conference, from memory. Bama #1, UGA #2 UF#3 UT #5,
we have beat #11USC and #13 MO. So we still got some proving to do, think if we can turn UGA over and keep penalties minimal and TO's at zero we are in the game. UGA QB is 5 -11 keep him in pocket Dline get your hands up. He does most his damage scrambling mostly to the right. Throws a good ball on the run too.

Compare this season's start vs last season. Pretty crazy when you think about it.

Neither has Florida. Stats are stats.
In their last 8 games they whipped us by 5 scores and #14 Auburn. We got lucky in a few games.

I understand people are excited. But until we beat someone of significance, people need to stop the celebration. The stats the op posted is like bragging about a middle school kid beating up an elementary kid.

Last year we start out by losing to GSU and BYU and some fans complain.

This year we start out with 2 conference wins yet some fans complain.
Not much to complain about if someone takes the time to put the first two performances in perspective by comparing to how those opponents did vs their other opponents... UF and Bama.

I'm making no prediction or even concrete projection... but statistically, UT handled USCe as well as UF did. They handled Mizzou as well as Bama did. The USCe game "felt" more competitive than they did vs UF but the stat lines are similar.

I am still concerned about JG and will be until it is proven that he either CAN make plays against top tier opponents or that UT can continue to hide him.

Elementary school kid should have fought harder.
Why do you care what people celebrate?
How does that affect you?
What if they want to throw a 5 sq block rager bc TN gets first complete pass of the game?

Why do you care?

This Saturday will be the first real measuring stick. Even if we don't win, we can truly gauge the team by how well these stats hold up in this game.
