No worries.

I would hope not and dont really think so. You cannot blame this on the team or University!! Maybe some parents of the recruits might take a second look but I dont think the recruits themselves would. But, with that said, if the media really harps on this and starts trashing us, it might change somes minds. Thanks alot, now you have me worried.

I think the bigger worry is how this incident might scare off potential recruits.

Let's put it this way. If a prized recruit is split between 2 colleges, and then one college just has 3 players arrested for attempted armed robbery, it probably would hurt the chances of said school.

Generally no, but it might have some impact on the "Grandma Factor" kids, who let someone else decide where they are going to go. But for the kids, unless they plan on a few random hold-ups while they are here, it shouldn't have any impact at all.

Why, exactly?

"Oh god, they have CRIME in Knoxville!"

Florida has had 25 players arrested in the Meyer era, but it hasn't hurt them at all in recruiting.

Look, you can either come here and ROB someone at a gas station or go to USC and be the one working there who reports it. Which would you rather be? :)

It's probably more likely to raise concerns for some parents of recruits than for the recruits. Even some parents may not be affected too much, though. It'll depend somewhat on the values of the recruit and his parents and the way UT handles the situation.

I would be really worried if Monte had of been with them but then again every time I thought about it I wouldn't be able to keep from laughing either.

They've certainly continued to recruit successfully, but that does not mean that it did not hurt them at all. They may have lost out on some players because of that.

Im not too worried about losing recruits who have already committed, but I am worried about this being used against us for getting new recruits.

Unless they are planning a life of crime while enrolled at UT, then I see no reason why this should have a negative effect on recruits.
