Ok guys me and my step father are making our first treck down to Athens to watch us play the dawgs! I have some questions for those of you that have been there before.

-best way to get there?
-best place to park near the stadium?
-good places to eat near the stadium?
-anything else that would help me...

Just tell me what you guys know and thanks in advance!!

Bring a dog whistle...blow it when they bark at you!

People here can help you...it's been a while since i've been there.....what i can tell you is to look at the campus, stadium, etc, etc, etc, with an honest eye.....b/c it actually is a very very good looking venue.

But nothing holds a candle to Our House! :)

-If there's traffic, take 78. Little traffic, take 316.
-Park at the intramural fields and take the bus. It's not a bad distance, and you're close to the Loop, and you'll be back on the road going home quicker.
-Eat at Kelly's Jerk Wings on Lumpkin and Milledge. You'll thank me, especially if you like spicy food. It's my favorite restaurant. Ever.
-Eat at Kelly's. Get the jerk chicken plate, with Mac and cheese and plaintains. Be sure to get an extra cornbread. And a large sweet tea.
-Eat at Kelly's.

Watch open beers if you are walking around. PUT IT IN A CUP! Buddy of mine that is the nicest, most easy going guy in the world got a ticket 2 years ago in Athens for having a can. #WGWTFA

Take 40 east towards Ashville, exit to 441 south all the way to Athens. Brings you to the loop around Athens. Much better than going 75 through Atlanta.

There's NO good way to get there. I went Hwy 9 from ATL I think.then maybe 316...maybe off of 985? It's a deserted hwy all the way there! We parked in someone's yard & ate at the student center. Couldn't believe it but their fans were nice to us. This was in 2012

Best way to get there from the Knoxville area --- Take I40 East to Asheville, get off on HWY 441 all the way to Athens. Should take you through the NE GA mountains.

Best place to park near the stadium ---- Our sections are on the North side of the stadium, which unfortunately most spots are for UGA donors. So, I park on the East side and ride the shuttle to the stadium to eat in the Student Center/go in the stadium.

Places to eat near stadium ---- Student Center, literally, right outside of Sanford Stadium. Super convenient, but crowded.

Just a word of recommendation. UGA fans will try really hard to instigate things. Just do not respond to them. Don't cause a scene and what not. They WILL try to get you ejected. Also, SEC Nation will be there, so if you want to go see that, I'd get there extra early to get a spot. If you need help, feel free to message me on here, and I'll give you my number to meet up!

I've heard you should avoid Hwy 316 at all costs, seek alternate route.

I live about 25 miles from Athens, this is some good advice. If you are taking 316, watch out for the police, they love to pull people over on game day. It dose not matter if you are flying Orange and White or Red and White, a ticket is a ticket.

We are taking the scenic route: Tellico Plains down to 441. Coming from this direction, any advice on parking or restaurants?
