Advice for Jim Chaney

If you have advice for the offensive coordinator because you know more about calling offense than he does, just post it here. I'm sure these coaching professionals value the opinion of people who work as mailmen, waiters, accountants, or any other common place job. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure that double reverse your pee wee team runs will work out just fine.

My god! Is this actually a Chaneyite???

Where do I get my football coach degree? I know what your saying, but to act like a common fan may not be able to see any flaws in their play calling is wrong imo.

Seriously, I thought the wildcat call on 4th and 1 was a terrible call.

1) With Bray standing by himself, it's 10 of us against 11 of them.
2) What else were we going to do in that formation? We weren't going to throw it! Everybody knew it was a run.

I was glad we went for it.
I am glad we are trying to be "creative" and find some answers to our struggling run game.
I'm okay with wildcat and option football.

I just thought that was a bad time to run that play.

I don't know what play I would've called, but it wouldn't have been that one.

I think this play would have worked. Had Akron not called a timeout, and prepared for the wildcat. Chaney should've called a different play at that point.

Dear Jim,

Get your head out of your a$$, watch some film on the run game of Bama, make our run game like that, this is your mission. If you choose not to accept this mission, pack your bags.

Dear Jimbo,

I always loved to run the wide receiver bubble screen twice a series when I was in charge. You might give it some thought.

Sincerely,

Randy "Freaking" Sanders

Coach Chaney,

If I ever see the pistol formation again it will be too soon.

Some thoughts from an amateur (technically. I've never been paid)

1. It seems like we're doing tons of stuff "ok" While I like variety and creativity, I question what are we experimenting with and what can we use to pound the rock. I don't know the playbook or details about every player's strengths like you do, I guess I just wish we were really awesome at more stuff, as I'm sure you do.

2. Did UF intimidate Tyler from throwing over the middle? I think getting the tight ends more involved and exploiting a slot receiver could make life easier everywhere.

3. Can we pass out of the wildcat? I could be wrong, but so far everytime we use it we run the ball. Obviously, I know the point is that the qb is more mobile and brings that danger, but if we could pass as well that's more unpredictability from that formation.

Jim, I very well know that you will read the above and say, "Duh, no sh*t sherlock" And as I said, there are variables affecting practice, playbook, roster decisions, etc., I don't know about. Just a few observations from a lover of the big orange.

Jim, also:

Glad you like farming, so do I.

The armchair qb'ing that goes on here can be demoralizing. You've proven ability before, keep working hard and remember that no one on this or any other board, including me, could do your job. So many of our fans are just so jaded because of the past several years. We just want to compete and win with the best and know that others respect our program.

Dear Coach Chaney,

First off why do you waste scholarships on RB's because it is obvious you hate them. You love running the ball with WR's and LB's anyway. Next why do we waste money on a RB coach? It is obvious you should have spent money on a QB coach and the newest edition of College Football Offensive Play Calling For Dummies. It is obvious why Kiffin kept you in check the season he was here. Finally you do realize this is Tennessee and not Purdue right?

Best of luck,
Mr. DERELICK MY VOLS
