Is anyone else in America sick and tired of hearing about your respective team's adversity? Or we have to over come adversity? Or we need swag or we have to have swag or we are going to out swag you? Or our swag will help us over come our adversity?

Shut the **** up and play the game..................

It really is a different generation these days. Back in the day, "swag" was having a few teeth knocked out and a bloody face. Overcoming adversity was beating the crap out of the guy lined up in front of you.

There are several meanings for the word swag.

It originates from the Scottish slang term of swagger. This word as most know means to carry yourself in a high esteem. To have swagger means having good self esteem and flaunting it in the way that you conduct yourself.

It has since been shortened by some rappers to simply be swag as that is a relatively simple word to rhyme. Next comes the marketing campaign and the 900 other rappers mimicking the original rapper. Therefore it has invaded pop culture to the extent of annoyance and being associated with the like of the cast of the Jersey Shore.

Another meaning of the word is "Sealed With A Gift." This is the reason why the gifts you receive from banquets or a radio station are referred to as swag as well.

These are two of several meanings of the word. Glad to be of aid.

Adversity is the most overused word in sports. Overcoming a 3 point deficit is NOT overcoming adversity....overcoming your star player having to sit out 2 plays is NOT overcoming adversity!! Also, since when can someone "will" their team to win? Thats the stupidest statement in football!!
Carry on
