Ok, now that I have scanned down the front page of this forum, I see the purpose of this thread. You like starting threads.

I am much more excited about Hardesty getting the ball this season than BB. Sure, I'm optimistic that he'll be able to make some magic happen by his sophomore year. But seriously, I rarely expect freshmen to make a huge impact.

BB isnt as big as yall think he is... and isnt goning to beat out MH for the starting job. He will see alot of acttion this year.. kinda like reggie bush is used with the saints..

Brown didn't just dominate in Kansas, he dominated in several high-profile camps across the country as well and the Army all-star game. When he attended an OU camp as a junior with some of the best layers in the nation, he stood out as the most physically gifted among every one there.

This kid is every bit as good as advertised and maybe better IMO. I don;t know if he will get more carries than Hardesty this year, but to write him off for serious playing time just because he's a freshman is rediculous. Him and Berry were the two highest rated players coming out of HS by a mile on our squad and number one ranked recruits pan out in CFB more than they don;t...especially the RB position. It's a position that a stud can come in and dominate as a freshman if he's as good as advertised. I see no reason why Brown won't get PLENTY of playing time. The kid really is good and imagine what he will be like when our new strength and conditioning coach gets his hands on him.

You can also bet Kiffin will want him to be a focal point of this team to establish that this is not nearly the same team as last year. I see Brown, Hardesty and Creer splitting 95 percent of the carries until one of them really starts to separate themselves from the others. Let's no forget about Oku and Williams either. I'd redshirt Williams if I were Kiffin unless he thinks he is better than the others. We need Oku's slash and dash style for little dump offs this year. Him and Nukeese getting tosses and short routes such as slant could be pretty sick. One thing's for sure, we won't be short of playmakers on offense this year like last.

Nope! Hardesty, Creer, Brown, Oku, Nuke, Teague, etc., etc. To many quality backs for one guy to show out to many times. Good possibility that at least the first 3 all have between 2 and 4 100 yard games. Not complaining though! This is an excellent problem to have! I am stoked about our running game! Maybe even old school Nebraska type rushing numbers!

What have any of these guys done to say they are quality backs?

Nuke will be a wr and I would assume with Williams, Oku and Brown, Teague will get a look at wr first.

And there is no way we are going to have 3 backs with 2 to 4 100 yard games.

Our O-line stinks too.

Hardesty has never had a 100 yard game and never averaged over 4.2 yards a carry.

Creer has potential but hasn't done against good competition.

I read where Hardesty said he likes this system much better and it's very similar to run his HS team ran. I predict Hardesty and Brown will get the most touches followed by Creer. IMO Hardesty is a lot better than he has shown so far under Fulmer. Oku will be used a lot as well out of the back field in general.

i agree. just like a good running game can open up the pass, a good passing game will definately help open up the run.

And...before you have either of those you have to have a great offensive line blocking. The QB situation also revolves around how well the O-Line can block. Backs are only as good as the line. Period.

Can BB actually step foot on campus and start practice before people start mentioning his name and Heisman in the same sentence?

I like getting my hopes up as well but put this in yalls pipe and smoke it. How many #1 recruits out of HS have gone on to win the Heisman? I don't know the answer but I do know it is NOT MANY. #1 recruits are BUSTS always and not saying that will happen in this case but let's be realistic here.

I realize that Nuke & Teague will get looks at WR first, I only meant that they might get 1 or 2 touches per game carrying the ball on Harvin type plays because IMO this is the type of players that they are! Not really true wideouts. Our O-line only stunk because they didn't know what the heck they were doing,(flip flopping and such!) Hardesty and Creer haven't done a whole lot stat wise because they were playing behind a guy (Foster) who sucked because he played for a coach that was loyal to a fault! They have shown enough on a few instances to say that they are potentially "Quality Backs"! And finally the 2-4 100 yard rushing games each is STILL a possibility! One guy gets hot, you keep feeding him! The next week it might be one of the other TRUE RB's!

Honestly, i would love for it to happen but in the SEC there are far better defenses. We also have pretty much to passing game/QB and are loaded at RB so he prob won't get as many carries. I really wouldn't be surprised if he finished in the top 6 by his junior/senior year though.

One thing is for sure: much of our success on offense will depend upon SERIOUS improvement on the offensive line. It's nice to hear that Kiffin has put emphasis on its development, but the proof will only be recognized come September.

Also, I really think that the fantastic talent we have recruited will have a positive impact on getting quality blockers in the next few years. I'm sure that high school players prefer to play for a team with quality backs.

If our offense line somehow improves from last year, Brown should do very well. Imgine this kid after our strength and conditioning coach gets a hold of him. He will be a monster back.
