On Baseball Tonight they just talked about 5 years ago today, these teams played in a 30-3 game and a pitcher got a save in that game...how is that possible??

If a pitcher comes into a save situation and pitches the last 3 innings (or fewer) of a game.

August 22, 2007 Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles Box Score and Play by Play - Baseball-Reference.com

So, Littleton comes into a save situation in the 7th, finishes the game and the Rangers 16 runs while he in the game.

I believe it's a save if the pitcher's team wins, he's not the winning pitcher, and he pitches the last 3 innings, regardless of score.

Here's a nice definition of the criteria

He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
He is not the winning pitcher;
He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and

He satisfies one of the following conditions:
He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning
He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck
He pitches for at least three innings
