Admiral is one of my favorite players of all time. However, I am somewhat disappointed with his body language towards the end of the game last night. Two examples, 1) he gets taken out of the game and Fulkerson tries to give him "5" and Admiral disses Fulky and walks right past him 2) after Grants shot is blocked the end of regulation and Barnes starts chewing on Grant , Admiral basically stares down Grant with the look of " WTH were you doing".
I hope Admiral doesn't get away from the Team concept that has gotten us to this point and continues to be a leader on this team. The last thing we need is Admiral trying to impress NBA scouts and pouting when he has a bad game. I think Barnes won't let this happen and also think Admiral is too great of a person to let this happen. Hopefully he gets in the gym and gets his shot back because without him, we're Nowhere close to being the #1 team in the conference, much less the country! Let's go Admiral!

He’ll bounce back. I agree with you, though. It did seem like he was sulking a little. Barnes said he gets emotional when he’s missing his shots. I think the crowd got to him a little with all the air ball stuff, too. He did have that important basket that tied the game up late.

We didn’t get a lot of offensive rebounds. I think that was a big problem last night. Alexander loves to tip that ball around instead of ripping it down with both hands. We shouldn’t have been out rebounded by Vandy. Survive and advance.

Whatever the problem, they miss his 3 point daggers right now. If he can't hit them he needs to drive the basketball.

He has that heavy spin on his shot like he did at the beginning of the year when he slumped.

He was 10.7 points below his average of 16.7. Just a bad night but he does not need the attitude. We need Schofield and Williams to be on their game to be awesome.

I saw the diss towards Fulky. My first thought was that's not good. But then, I just figured it was his extreme disappointment in himself which caused him to act out of character. When I was young and playing basketball (150 years ago), we didn't clap hands, slap hands, fist bump or whatever on negative plays. Good plays, yes. In reality, I really don't want someone in effect "congratulating" me when my play has been that bad.

All the NBA talk combined with him being surpassed by Williams in that talk might be what ails him.

Come on fans. Other than having an off night, there is nothing wrong with Admiral. He works hard. He plays hard. If Barnes--who "reads" players as well as any coach I have ever seen--thought there was a serious problem, he'd address it or sit him.

Where was the outpouring of pop psychology concern when Grant went cold and "funky" against Missouri with 4 points on 1-8 shooting? Was he a bad leader for looking down and disappointed (and he did)? Not every player is going to be at his or her best every night. Notice Barnes had AS on the court at every crucial moment of last night's game and he probably wanted Admiral to take the last shot in regulation.

The pop psychology and "deep" concern about Admiral's role, attitude and leadership is misplaced. I'd want him on my team any day.

I swear, a little adversity brings out the worst in this board. Some of the postings last night reminded me of the doomsayers on the football board.

Vandy's guys played out of their minds and way above themselves at home on their weird court. And Vandy lost. Enough said! Go Vols and Go Admiral!

id prefer his funks not occur on the worst teams in the SEC resulting in a L as that tanks our RPI.

We started playing ME basketball instead of TEAM ball with all of the outside noise some won't to show that they are the top dog, before the bama i didn't see none of that plus we will be getting everyone's top game everybody won't to knock of number 1 sometime it take a loss to get everybody back on the same page just get this out of our system before MARCH PLUS THE LONGER WE GO BEGIN NUMBER 1 the pressure will be on we are feeling the pressure but when we lose a game the pressure won't be as bad we will be able to relax and play like last night all you hear is about begin the number 1 in the country and Admiral has had a couple of bad games he needs to drive to the basket instead of shooting the 3 Williams was doing the same thing till the second half then he started going to the basket in crunch i think they both are trying to show the scouts that they can hit the 3 thats not neither ones game if both start taking the ball to the hoop we will be a hard team to beat but if we don't we will lose soon and who know that might make us play better in the end we don't won't to top out this early just in the SEC LSU and KENTUCKY are coming together as a team the SEC title is not a sure thing much less a final 4 if this TEAM doesn't forget how we got here we just might cut some nets down in MARCH.

Look, Schofield is definitely struggling a bit right now, but there are games we would not have won (Gonzaga) without him. We will need him as WiIliams could have some tough games too. Hopefully they both don't struggle on the same night.

That last shot in regulation should absolutely have gone to admiral. Williams shot an obviously contested 3 when Admiral was unguarded. Maybe he would have missed, but even if he did you leave zeros on the clock. For some reason I feel he would have hit it.

Also, just a bad move by Grant to try to take over right there. Grant and Admiral are successful because of each other...feed your teammate. That’s probably the only mistake Grant made all night, so I guess you give him a pass on it. Also, no way we come out of that with a W without #2.

It was not my intent to turn this into a bashing of Admiral. I just thought his body language was interesting last night and I'm sure he was disappointed to play his worst game of the season in front of all he NBA scouts that were in attendance. However, As I said before, I love Admirals game and have no doubt he will get back to being the player he was a few games ago. I predict he'll go off for 20 points and 8 boards vs. WVU.
