Hopefully it's fact and not just rumor. Syracuse can continue on with a seamless transition of continuos suckage with the addition of that weak link.

Drayton is still working in the field recruiting side by side with lane. Kind of leads me to believe he has a future on the Hill.

how can drayton survive? if im not mistaken our runningbacks underperformed to the point of having his hand in fault of Fulmers demise

i say give Trooper the same title he has at oklahoma St and not let him call plays and bring him back to coach running backs. he got the most out of those guys

yeah it was amazing how many huge holes our OL opened only to have the RB's miss them. I'm also shocked teams didn't respect our play action either.

I want Drayton gone but I'm not sure how you can put the lack of a running game on his shoulders

The whole "all he does is chest bump" is kind of old. I'm no coaching expert but when he coached RB's we did well. When our receivers were sucking, he took over and immediately improved their numbers as well and now he seems to be doing petty well for himself at OSU.

Do I think he deserved to be the OC @ UT? Absolutely not, but you can't deny he wasn't a good position coach.

Out of all this nonsense, finally a post that is relevant in this thread. It does not appear Drayton will be retained, but Michaels will be the one staff member remaining. That has more to do with his NFL relationships and experience, than his year at UT.

Presumably you were being as sarcastic as I was -- which means you might have missed Mike Griffith's declaration that Adkins is a "top-notch" line coach that is thought of highly enough that he has "likely already heard from at least a half-dozen schools who are interested in his services." Just to clarify my opinion -- Adkins needs to be gone worse than anybody else on staff. The OL has been awful during his entire tenure.

I still can not understand the love affair some people have with a coach that shows emotion with chest bumping, and towel waving...

Look at Tony Dungy..the man is calm, cool, and collected 100% of the time on the sidelines...does that mean he is not a good coach?

The chest bumping may be cute, and give some people in the stands a warm fuzzy feeling...but give me a coach that has a good resume, and can recruit and I'll be satisfied.

I don't care what he does. He could take naps on the sideline or use party favors as long as he's a good coach.

Exactly. I just think a lot of people see an emotional coach and say..."oh he is a good coach."

That's the just the way it is though...look at Will Muschamp for example. The day after everyone sees him on SportsCenter with blood running down his face from head-butting a player's helmet...his stock rose. Not saying he is or isn't a good coach...but there is not a direct correlation between emotions and ability.
