Adidas uniforms last night

Do you know if the uni contracts call for the manufacturers to tailor them when a player's pads aren't working with off-the-rack unis?
Well, there aren't really "off-the-rack" when it comes to on-field uniforms from Nike/adidas. They have three or four cuts of jersey, depending on position and then each of those cuts come in numerical sizes (38-54) like men's suit jackets do. Every once in awhile a school equipment staff will use local tailors to adjust certain things for some players, but it's not typically needed from the manufacturer because of the wide range of cuts and sizes.

That was a Butch Jones request, not something Tennessee asked for or Adidas came up with out of nowhere. It won’t return as long as brick by brick stays out in Jonesboro Arkansas.
Fair enough, but I was more just addressing that you said you couldn't remember any script Tennessee on the football jerseys ever, and I supplied some while acknowledging it wasn't exactly "script".

I took it to mean the script "Tennessee" that started appearing on hats and t-shirts the last couple of years and was on the bowl gear that players received that had been limited to the baseball and softball jerseys until recently. What appeared on those adidas jerseys was a Tennessee wordmark. Perhaps that seems like the same thing to you, but to people with a background in uniforms and equipment, its like calling someone Steven when their name is Scott.

Again, that's why I said "I think he means..." and admitted that it wasn't officially "script".

Well there we go. Thanks for confirming.

And I for one, have no real feelings towards it. Thought it was OK, but didn't hate when it was taken off. Appreciate Deerpark for clarifying how it came to be, though.
I don’t think we need Tennessee written on the front of our football jerseys. Our Power T on the helmet and our unique shade of orange make that unnecessary IMO. It’s always come across as old SouthWest Conference to me. Hopefully the only thing that changes on the uniforms will be the adidas logo instead of the swoosh. I also wouldn’t mind losing the orange collar on the road uniforms.

Well with how much people are trying to minimize the amount of orange used (wanting black and gray so often instead of orange) maybe it's needed. Same goes for the collar. I want orange as much as possible.

That’s cool. I just liked the white collar with the orange Power T, which is pretty much the only thing I liked about Adidas uniforms that we had previously.

Heck, I am so old that I wish we still had tear away jerseys! Seriously though, do any of you old guys (75 and up) like me think that the 50 s and 60 s era orange had a trace more yellow in it? I know the orange on my track singlet is NOT PMS 151.

Legend has it: The game was played on January 9, 2026 but “last night’s uniforms” are still talked about til this day.

I hope Indiana wins because I’d love to see Cignetti in the White House. Would be such a great story.

Hell I am just coming to term with thinking "Indiana Hoosiers, and National Champions" together. NEVER thought THAT would happen. But rather than hearing the nonsense of Miami winning? I can live with it.

I think there’s some power brokers seriously reconsidering things, particularly in the SEC. One of those being UT. Hindsight is 20/20, but no way in hell UT opens that door with the NIL to Nico. That was a big factor in how all this went crazy.

Look at what Texas and some other big names, spent. Yet, Indiana is holding the trophy. I know Indiana spent some money, but not on a bunch of shiny objects. They got a quality QB. Makes UTs misses at QB look even more troubling.

I still don’t know how Indiana did what they did in two short years. It makes Heupel’s youth strategy look eve more head scratching. I can see why Danny White is wanting guard rails, because UT doesn’t fully comprehend how to play in these waters.

Same, but when the Chicago Cubs won 10 years ago that kind of set things in motion as far as me being shocked to witness teams winning. After that nothing shocks me as much.

Yeah but the Cubs winning? It was one of those, "Finally" moments. Indiana? Now who the Hell EVER had those guys getting in, much less winning? And face it, we were ALL figuring the refs were screw that up for them.

Even now? Through Kiffin, Dooley, Jones and Pruitt, I am still waiting for something stupid to happen, and Fulmer trying to worm his way back in. There are still a bunch of what iffers who can't get enough of him. No matter how much meddling he and his buddies do.

Saints winning the Super Bowl did that for me!

How they got from Ricky Williams in a wedding dress to a Super Bowl Champs is anybody’s guess.

And anybody would say it was Breesus.
