Thanks man, you made my purchase easier. I like how it has orange on it and not cluttered looking. I do think that some of UA's stuff is a gimic

UA makes some high-quality gear, especially shirts and performance gear. I won't knock them for that, they do a really good job. It's also very expensive.

Man it was crazy in middle school, a little school in rural Tennessee and nobody had the same jacket; every team from UMass to the Denver Nuggets. I had a San Diego Chargers jacket & i'd like to have a new one cause I would rock it out this fall

Yeah, everybody had to have a different one because Just For Feet and Champs got like one in each team and you pretty much had to become a "fan" of whatever team was left. I was lucky, my mom went to Chicago on a business trip and brought a Bulls one back for me. My popularity went thru the da*n roof.

I think we went all around middle Tennessee looking for a Bulls jacket, ended up going through Eastbay and all they had was the Chargers or a Arizona Cardinals.

Nike has the best equipment all around. I have been hoping UT would switch to Nike for years.

I have a feeling you're in for a very long wait. Unless Adidas does something to turn Tennessee off then they will stick with them.

As I said before, it'll be at least 5 years, a new five-year deal began July 1.

Because we are an adidas school does not mean you can't get UT stuff from UA or Nike or any other company. It makes no difference.

The only thing that this effects is what we wear on the field.

We will never be a nike school b/c
a. Nikes recent bid was lower than the old adidas 2005 adidas bid
b. adidas' bid in 2010 was clearly higher than 2005
c. We are a Tier 1 school for adidas this means there are 2 full time people who are in Knoxville just to handle uniform/equipment issues
d. For Nike we would not be a Tier 1 school for them and we would have to call someone out of town to support our needs, which is clearly unacceptable.

I deal a lot with high schol football players, and from experience I can tell you that many of those players, especially the flashy offensive-minded ones, are very interested in what they are wearing, even down to the brand name. For whatever reason, UA and Nike have the hearts of young athletes right now. How does Oregon get so much talent? By letting the showboats pick their look and wear it. I'm all for tradition and classy, but I do believe we lose weapons by maintaining this contract.

So what's wrong with the players choosing what they want to wear?

Oregon should be removed from any discussion about uniforms. They are not on the same level as other schools fighting for sponsorship money

I had an AWESOME UT Starter coat from middle school. I kind of wonder if my mom still has it stored away somewhere at the house......I may have to drag it out.
