Which is so odd to me. Where does UT apparel rank in merch sales among other schools? It has to be up there pretty high.
I'm sure we're not top 3, but surely we were top 10 or higher.I would also be curious to know why. It seems like a pretty big loss for Nike. They had an elite program on a low-ball deal and just lost it. They still have a bunch of programs but I know they recently picked up Auburn. Auburn is a fine school/program but its value is certainly below Tennessee.
Money gives us an edge in recruiting. Tristen Keys and Jeremiah Smith are at Nike schools (Keys is committed) and signed individual Adidas NIL deals. It’s not old school recruiting anymore.I tend to think the edge Nike gives us in recruiting by having nicer apparel outweighs the outright monetary value Adidas or any other company offers. Just go into the recruiting forum and see how many of the recruits post themselves in Nike Alternate jerseys. The amount of fan pride that comes with wearing nice apparel is beneficial also. As mentioned, Adidas couldn't even get a consistent Pantone of orange on their products.
Sounds like Nike wants to go after more pro sports / NFL action.I would also be curious to know why. It seems like a pretty big loss for Nike. This, I bet we get treated much better with Adidas. And maybe Adidas improves that color this time. Also there wasn’t anything great about Nike for sure. We have creative control according to Danny White. GBOAll you swoosh worshippers are going to look stupid when we don’t have a single player decommit over this.
We will be the biggest Adidas brand. Nike always treated us like a second class citizen even when we started winning in almost every sport. (By the way, our first 4 or so years with Nike were the worst in the history of our AD, so they never did anything to help our brand anyway. We didn’t start winning because we wore Nike. We did it because we finally hired competent administrators and coaches.)

“Inferior” Swain likes Nike for aesthetics and brand but said the Adidas cleats are actually betterI would look at some recent Nike offers to understand where they would’ve offered if they weren’t immediately conceding to Adidas. Unlikely they would’ve kept us at 6 million.
Switching to an inferior brand over a couple million a year is questionable. Maybe it would’ve been like 5 million more a year though.
I’ve heard Tennessee will do the designsFacts:
The Nike black uniforms for Tennessee looked stellar. Adidas better not eff that up.
The Nike Smokey Gray uniforms for Tennessee looked really good too. Adidas better not eff that up.
The rest, eh. Nike fan gear always feels low quality at a high price, so eh.
Adidas used to make the Superstar model with UT orange stripes. I had a couple of pairs of them through my late teens and early 20sGimme boring, then.

You forgot to show the hoe pants that all the women are wearing that show every crack and creviceAdidas' previous contract with UT ended in 2015.
Does it make sense to expect that we're gonna see the same styles from Adidas a decade later?
