Lot of folks would apparently rather get bent over by Nike because they think it looks better. Says a lot about the mentality in this fanbase
If there are enough fans willing and able to pay it, there’s no reason to get rid of it.If true, hopefully Danny can do away with that 10% talent upcharge on tickets!
I would look at some recent Nike offers to understand where they would’ve offered if they weren’t immediately conceding to Adidas. Unlikely they would’ve kept us at 6 million. We are going from 5.5m to 20m
I don’t think Nike even attempted a counter offer
Athens is just as close to 4 of those states. Charlotte, South Carolina (although doesn’t touch TN), Alabama, and Mississippi are all just as close or closer to Athens than Knoxville. Those are the talent rich states. Arkansas, Missouri, and Kentucky have very little talent. Virginia has talent, but it depends on if it’s in the Tidewater region. While thats true, dont forget that Tennessee borders EIGHT surrounding states, all within a reasonable distance from Knoxville. That is a very unique recruiting advantage for us. So while there might not be as much in-state talent as Georgia, when you factor in the 8 bordering states, it can absolutely serve as a pretty good equalizer!
$4 million more than their previous biggest brand is a big dealthe 5.5 is an all in number for UT with Nike. So I'm assuming your $20M is as well.
The all-in deal for Louisville is $16M so not to be a party pooper but thats not nearly as blockbuster as this was made out to be.
I don’t see a big deal here. Is it a deal breaker for certain recruits? Is Danny White getting snookered financially (that ain’t happening) or is it just a random issue worthy of half the fanbase to self immolate?

Also Louisville is an AD on the rise. Pat Kelsey has them back on the road to relevance after their worst two years of all time. Their baseball team went to Omaha this year.
The Adidas uniforms looked horrendous toward the end, last time we had them. Money talks though. Hopefully they look better this time.Maybe it's an age thing, but i don't understand why people care if its Nike, Adidas or whoever. As long as its orange and white and UT is winning, who cares?
I have both Nike and Addias and they both fit and look perfectly fine
