Adidas deal to be finalized today per Chris Low

Nike has been good with products, colors and uniform combos. But it appears we’re not a priority for them. If the AD has addressed the previous issues that had us leave adidas that Nike was better at, and if those concerns are being addressed AND UT is making more money AND UT is adidas’ premier program, it seems like a win.

HEY!! All my Adidas gear is Back IN! Cool. I have an Adidas hat in Perfect condition. Now it's brand new! Lol. And, Recruits don't care who makes the stuff. They care about getting Paid, and this move facilitates that. So yall stop groaning.... Neat looking Hat Willis..

You have to submit a form to do that? LOL! I had no idea! I just thought it was as simple as calling the coach and saying "hey Im not coming". These are verbal commits, so I assumed the decommits are as well.

It’s not a short term gain. It’s substantially more money. From what I’ve been told it could also include NIL deals which is a huge bonus

Cooper Flagg wasn’t signed with Nike or Addidas, Nate Ament isn’t signed with Nike or Addias. One of the few positives from NIL is that it’s taken the apparel companies power away from driving kids to a school. If they want to sign them, they can sign them.

I don't know anything about the equipment difference between Nike and Adidas, but what I will say is a big reason Adidas is paying us so much is we'd be their biggest brand in college athletics. Nike has copious amounts of schools/teams on or above our level as a program and doesn't need to shell out money.

Addidas is paying us a lot in part because we're going to make them a lot of money, relative to other programs. Where as with Nike we're just another drop in their gargantuan sized bucket.

Unless all else is equal. That's what I keep saying. Nike schools have NIL too. If two schools, one being Adidas and one being Nike, are after a player and they're both offering similar compensation, the player might choose the Nike school simply because he prefers Nike. I can absolutely see scenarios like that happening to us. Maybe it's BVS (Battered Vol Syndrome), but I can see us on the losing end of recruiting battles over this.

I'm loving these hilarious and melodramatic responses to the news! You go, Volnation!

Personally, I'm fine with the Adidas deal, even though I wore Nikes almost exclusively from '73 into the '90s. I'll wait and complain if and when there's something to complain about then. Anything that happened 6-20 years ago will not determine what happens next year.

So until then, I'll solace myself with the thought that #2 tries harder.
