apparently Coach O talked to Bobby Herbert and informed him, that he would be going to Tennessee over LSU

Sour Grapes.

huh?

i'm still waiting to see who else gets hired. joseph is better than orgeron. if he's serious about going back to college he would have been better for UTenn (he's a God-like figure in nola. he'd get more from LA than O)

why wouldn't i be?

last night i posted about 2 things

1. your love of the tampa 2 and it's fit in CFB/at UTenn

2. your board's criticism of O's salary when you're paying your DC $1M+

That's ok. We're paying our head coach less... so we can get an NFL hall of famer in to coach his defense. You're the one paying that buffoon the most in the SEC now. You all are the ones that look like morons paying that time bomb Nick Saban type money.

I don't like that we'd be paying Coach O over $600,000 - if and only if we don't get more money from the AD for the other assisstants.

lol, anyone who roots for a Less Miles team has no business to talk about overpaying for anyone.

the word is it's $750k/year for O

and you're paying kiffen $2M+ to basically recruit. he's not going to do that as well as miles. and for all of miles' shortcomings, he still has a national title and SEC title. how long until lane gets those?

now if miles hadn't won it all last year, he'd be making right about what lane is making now.

Phil Fulmer could have won 2 NCs at LSU in the time Les Miles has been there with those teams at LSU. He's one of the biggest morons in CFB. I have no clue how he ever got the job.

Btw, it's Kiffin, and he's a better recruiter than Miles... believe.. or not.

i'm not exactly the biggest les miles fan

but no matter how you slice it. he has 2 trips to the SEC title game, 1 SEC title, 2 BCS titles, and 1 national title

and he's about to round off possibly the best recruiting class ever

As CLK said, we are going to have a coaching staff that any NFL GM would be proud of.
So far its ok.
Screw Orgeron I would rather he go away as come to Tennessee.

He got it on Saban's boys...Miles hasn't done anything other than underachieve IMO. With the talent you have on tap in LA....you have to be a pretty poor coach to screw it up in the West.

We've been down that road for quite a few years here. We were able to recruit well, but coaching wise we haven't been up to par with the others in the East. I like LSU, but I don't pretend to know your problems or needs. Our issue is we don't have crap tons of in state talent like you guys do...we need a staff to recruit nationally. I think Kiffin is building that...regardless of price. I don't care what wins cost...I won't mind being called the Yankees of the SEC one bit.

yeah i can't wait to see this actually happen

he'es not going to go into LA and out-recruit carroll AND slick rick. he's not going to go into Bama and out-recruit saban. richt owns UGA. jimbo, shannon, and meyer have most of florida locked down.

the areas that UTenn had to rely on to build their great teams in the mid-late 90s are locked up. where is lane going to get this talent? certainly not in-state

remember, USC and UGA rising caused UTenn to fall

What does the fact that Lane Kiffin is a better recruiting have to do with coaches locking up states? I never said he would out recruit Miles - that's impossible when he has Louisiana - I said he was a better recruiter... doesn't mean that we'd get better classes since it's harder to recruit at Tennessee.

And if you think "Slick Rick" will prevent Tennessee from getting Cali boys, then that's pretty funny.

lemme know when you get DEs the quality of simeon rice, dwight freeney, or hell even O-gun or mathis

If we have guys of that quality - heck if anyone had guys of that quality in CFB - then they'd bulldoze through every game with little effort. Get a clue.

Basically every DE on our roster is smallish for the position and very quick. Many are converted linebackers. Our personnel will be fine.

I still don't understand why you think the greatest defensive mind in the NFL can't adapt to personnel, though.

the problem is asking where you're going to target in order to recruit all this talent

hell UTenn has had some highly-rated classes, but a lot of the blue chip talent lately were JUCO guys

i just don't see where UTenn is magically going to get this talent from
