Adams: OC Hire Overrated?

Not clicking on this crap. Pruitt knows the OC is important and this jackass reporter doesn't know he was joking while making the point that he needed to spend his time recruiting. Much ado about nothing. I think Pruitt sometimes throws rocks at the hen house just to hear the clucking start.
He probably knows who he is picking and recruits know this and are sworn to secrecy hence the decent class he’s hauled in thus far. Look for a few more 4 stars on NSD....

Isn't the moniker actually "overrated John Adams"?He believes that he is some kind of legendary writer because he has been a "sportswriter"for the Knoxville news sentinel for ages.Marvin West used to write for the Kns a long time ago.His writing pretty well lacked what Adams does, skill and unbiased (not trashing )as adams exhibits. If you want to get a good sports report, do not look or read Kns.

Our OL is still a year away, at least, from being SEC caliber. That fact alone will weigh on how good our offense can be, as well as how much time the defense spends on the field.

That being said, 28 ppg against FBS opponents, no matter how we get there, should be enough to get us to a bowl.

Go Vols.

The KNS has some great writers back in the day— West, Byrd, and Siler... Adams is like a kindergarten kid compared to those... he really doesn’t know football enough to write about it, he just tries to satirize the obvious.... not good as a hometown writer.

You expect wisdom from Count Volcula? Really?

I don't need to prove anything

I'm not the ones that slobbered all over Butch Jones and attacked anything negative said against him

It was asinine for Pruitt to make the comment he did about OCs, even in jest

It makes for great cannon fodder later on, especially when you start losing to the likes of South Carolina and Vanderbilt with a bowl game on the line

Considering how well SCAR did on offense today I think it will be McClendon. He was probably to busy packing to prepare the offense for the bowl game.

The hire is not unimportant, but fans place way too much faith in the ability of a good hire to actually move the needle on this team's win/loss result. Coaches at TN are fighting the rest of the league with both hands and one leg tied behind their backs; you should each cogitate on why that is indeed the fact.

Seeing a team like Baylor go from 1-11 to 7-6 with a win over a Vanderbilt team that the Vols couldnt manage tends to give fans hope the right hire can make a big difference.
