It is hard to figure out why the TE hasn't been a bigger part of this offense. But there are a lot of things hard to figure out about this offense. I'm done with it, its a trainwreck.

we have a kid kinda like this on the HS team i am the qb/rb coach for up here in va, he is 6"4 230+ hes verry athletic and is mainly a DE, he has got his shot @ wr , but our OC put in the spread few years back, he would be more suited as a TE, but we dont have but 1 set that incorperates the TE, he can get off the ball well but cant get behind anyone,he has another year left and maybe he will get a lil faster, but the last time we checked he ran a a 4.67 40 and that just wont cut it. we are just not sure how to use him. i hightly suspect this to be the problem with warren being a hybrid wr/te type. you have to think that warren played with QB's that had the ability to get out of the pockett and make plays, and it comes down to theese days with even the kids on Dfense getting so much faster, the pure pockett passer is a dying breed.

Check and see how many receptions have for Texas Tech the last 5 years. There's your answer.

That's a good point. TE's have, and continue to play, a crucial role in SEC football. Nice to have a 4.6 / 280 guy you can toss the pumpkin to, and watch him plow over a SS or weak-side LB.

But is that fact enough to rule out Leach? IDK. Maybe Warren as a blocking / slot receiver?

I've always been a "you gotta have a FB and TE" guy. That's just me, and I have yet to coach my first college, or high school, or pee wee game, so.....

Like I said, I don't know. I guess I'll live with whatever system the new HC brings.

Go Vols.

It's pretty much an invalid argument. Warren's lack of playing time is a little tough to figure out, but we've played plenty of Freshmen in the past.

Actually, there was a stat given a week ago that said that over the last five years, Tennessee has played freshmen the fewest minutes in the SEC.

been saying it all year, but what do I know. I'm not a coach but I'm sure glad we are getting a new one.

That would have to be true this year with our offense since they kept running out there, executing 3 plays, and then hustling off the field.

This doesn't surprise me. Over the years I've noticed Fulmer tended to put "seniority" over talent. Didn't work out well, now did it? :p Let's hope the new coach goes a different route.

New offense for remaining 2 games. First down, bubble screen right running rugby kick. Hope that Eric Berry blasts punt returner. Fixed.

I've tried to tell you guys, "its a Loyalty thing with Fulmer" don't think you can shirk the Vols and start right away, I don't care what type of credentials you have.

What should really piss all of us off is Coach Fulmer continually taking a butt kicking by other coaches' willingness to use the "Percy Harvin's" and "Knowshon Moreno's" of the SEC and allowing opposing freshmen to show up our seniors. I get sick and tried of hearing coach speak about experience and leaning on your seniors, all the while underclassmen around the conference are playing lights out. Is coach THAT stubborn?

Something to keep in mind, Bobby Johnson redshirts almost all his freshman and that has seemed to work out pretty well for them. If you have a Peyton Manning-type player then sure, play him as a freshman. I'm just saying it's not the entire story.

(PS, I am not a Vandy fan, and I know they have gone cold following their 5-0 start. I hope they don't make it to a bowl game but you have to give the guy credit. A winning percentage of .416 beats what they're used to, either .000 or maybe .181 in their good years.)

Guys its a well known fact that Fulmer usually doesnt play skill position players as a Freshman. Maybe a play or two at WR here and there or a running back to run a certain play then come right out. No matter what they always run the same offense and they never seem to design part of the offense to maybe take advantage of a young freshman with a lot of talent. Look at Jamal Lewis his Freshman year, they didnt play him hardly at all until the Ole Miss game and earlier that year against Florida he actually ran the ball pretty well the 3 or 4 times he ran it all game. Does anyone know who Fulmer started over Lewis that year for the Texas Tech, UCLA and FLA games?

Why is everybody so surprised a coach at the same place for 17 years plays the kids who've been there the longest? The very thing that puts him apart from the other coaches is the very thing that makes him ineffective.

Blah, Blah, Blah...with continued Blah, Blah, Blah...Fulmer is a thing of the past and Adams can't let it rest...who cares
