IMO, the longer this drags out, it's less likely that the hire will be anyone worth a flip. Blackburn or Fulmer should have been an easy hire. Just drag it out to the point that people will be satisfied with anyone then, BAM! we get a "can of corn" AD. As this drags on, we should start preparing ourselves to be underwhelmed.

If they don't want Blackburn they for sure aren't going to look at Davis or take him seriously. There seems to some anti-vol BOT members that want someone they can keep their thumbs on. At least that is the appearance they are giving and by being silent they fuel the fire and the belief that is exactly what is going on. They give the appearance they could screw up a 1 car funeral even if it isn't the case. Make a bad decision here with a outsider and the fire will become a full blown inferno. But the ego's of big time BOT folks can be HUGE sometimes even if it means their own demise. GBO!!!! I pray that God blesses the BOT with good clear judgment.

Why is Charles Davis overlooked?

At this point, I can't say that he is. The search committee may have just not contacted him yet. And if he is being overlooked by fans right now? Well Heck, that just might work in his favor.

But I will say from what I have seen of Charles, I think he has shown enough intelligence to make him worth a look. As long as this search is taking, he is deserving of an interview if actual AD experience is not a requirement. That is if he is interested. That, Mr. Sly, is the question.
