Robert Duvall's portrayal of Robert E. Lee in Gods and Generals was better, but the dialogue in that movie was absolutely laughable! Nobody just "talked" in that movie! Every single scene was one long poetic, pontificating soliloquy after another, LOL! Every conversation came across like everyone's trade was professional orator!

That's like most serious movies and shows now. No one just talks. Its so bad

He did a good job in The Gentleman and the hbo series The Undoing. Those were a little outside of his normal roles.

I thought he was great in Heretic. Definitely outside his normal role.

IDK...literally no show is for everyone so it might not be for you but an 8.2 IMDB rating is very high so obviously there's an audience.

I don't have HBO but I'm curious to watch after seeing a quip where Peacemaker says something along the lines of "I love peace with all my heart and I don't care how many men, women and children I have to kill to get it.". Can't speak to the rest of the show of course but I find that kind dark humor amusing.
