We're over 3 MONTHS away from National Signing Day and already the kids on here are screaming doom and gloom which is really silly.

This thread is a total FAIL because the same old, boring tired things have been said 1,000's of times in most all the other threads started to do nothing but stir the crap and bash on CDD and our coaches.

FACT is that there's lots more 3* recruits playing in the NFL then there are 4* and 5* recruits since so many 4* and 5* recruits turn out to be a total BUST in college or don't have the brainpower to even stay in college.

Just another totally useless thread to keep bashing CDD and our coaches which will NOT matter one tiny iota to any decisions that AD Hart will make.

Many of you people really need to get a life or a job or both, LOL!

Recruiting will continue to struggle until we get a new HC who on the verge of being fired or until we start winning meaningful games.

I'm hoping the new HC happens first since I don't believe our current coach will ever win meaningful games

Tennessee will win the last three games. Recruiting will pick up and Tennessee will have a top 15 class. They will get Bell, Green, North and some of the others. Patience is the order fo the day.

We can only hope you are right. However, it looks as though some of our recruits are picking UT because we are the only "major" program to make an offer, like: Josh Smith, Bobby Kendrick, Dominic Zanka, Zach Barnes, Kris Comas, and Cameron Patrick.

Also, I have to question some of the offers our coaching staff has made to recruits (who have no offers from other majors): Donald Gray, Lucas Wilson, Kirk Donaldson, Larry Butler, and Jerrell Reynolds, among others.

Although our recruiting is not rock bottom, we will have to do much better if for us to have any hope of rising to the top of D-1A football any time in the foreseeable future.

It's hard to recruit when the recruits have no idea who their coaches will be.

Without coaches, we are only attractive to dedicated Vols fans, and players with no other Division 1 offers.

Um, even Auburn is ahead of UT.
There are 6 SEC teams in the top 10.
Look at where Kelly has ND. And Kif sure seems to be struggling with those sanctions. 17 committs w/ 12 in the top 100 with a 4.35 average star rating.
You know every team on there has a disadvantage. Think about Bama. Look how many quality 4 and 5 stars are already on the roster. Yet Saban keeps them lining up to get in.

A&M has 29 commits?

We currently have 19 verbal's and sit at #21 on Rivals. Those last few recruits better be absolute studs or we don't break the top 10. I don't see it happening.

This recruiting class was going to be around #4-5 in the SEC if UT has a good season. Lots of top tier recruits had UT at the top of their list before the loses and talk of a coaching change. As a result of their doubt about Dooley remaining the coach, they have dropped UT down.

For us to catch up in the our conference top 15 is not going to cut it as we are probably still 10th in the SEC. We need to get up near the top.

They may get north but according to what he said today on the new he is leaning towards Clemson more. I also doubt we have a top 15 class

Recruiting ranking don't matter until the papers are signed on national signing day. Until that moment, it's all speculation about what 18yr olds might do.

By this logic:

We have the 120th ranked class day before NSD = We have the 1st ranked class day before NSD.

Yeah they don't matter at all.

False. We won't win the last 3 and we won't have a top 15 class.

This is true. The quicker a decision is made one way or another will at least give recruits something to hang their hats on.

This is exactly why many Vol fans are wondering when/if Dave Hart will ever come out from under the Cone of Silence and make an announcement about Dooley - one way, or another. The longer he remains silent, the longer our recruiting efforts will suffer.

With the remaining schedule it could happen.

it is unrealistic man. Who would we have beaten other coaches will point to that lack of quality wins, our record in October, and the lack of player development. Dooley has been an ok recruiter and with his talent we will be close to winning a lot of games nothing more nothing less.

We've gotten to where the kids we're recruiting are being recruited by no other major programs and we're fighting with Middle Tennessee, UTC, and Wofford to get mid-level talent.

We also don't have many kids on the roster who are die-hard born and bred Tennessee fans from birth. When we were strong, we had those kids all over the field and they continually got better as they spent time in the weight room and the program. Now it seems they are no better when they leave than they were their first day.

Coaches with NFL experience will get recruits to notice us. Talented players out of high school don't want college coaches anymore - they want a 1-2 year stint and a possible top draft choice route. While I never liked what Kiffin did to us, what he could have done for us if Carrol had stayed at USC would have been monumental. NFL. NFL. NFL. And if I am wrong, why all the countless chatter about Gruden?

:lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

WOW, it would have been monumental, as in a monumental letdown, which is what he has been at USC. His team has the talent to go undefeated, projected to be playing for the national title, and not only does he ALREADY have 3 losses, but still cheats too.

If you think I'm wrong, please read this article on SI's front page today. The LA Times is saying Kiffy is pretty much done at USC, so I guess this is Tennessee's chance to get this brilliant tactician back. Is Lane Kiffin’s USC future in*doubt? | SI Tracking Blog

Patience = denial.

Dooley is now a liability and becoming a bigger one every day. People have come to dislike the man. Fans, media and former players are vocally against him, and winning out to be the top dweller in the cellar isn't going to change their opinion. Many want him gone and will continue to want him gone, and "that's just the way it is."
