Adding Missouri, probably means Auburn will be coming to the EAST and possibly the end of 3rd Sat in Oct with bama.

I feel like Slive has more sense than to add Mizzou. Definitely NOT a fit. More of a fit than WVU, but that's not saying much.

Sub FSU for WVU and OU for Mizzou. Recalibrate and that's the dream scenario for me.

Mizzou is exploring options..... which means they're leaving the Big 12 for sure.

Not sure the SEC is a slam dunk though. Look for the Big 10 to enter the picture --- at least to talk to them. The Big 10 would have to feel uncomfortable with the SEC gaining TV market share ( St Louis & KC ) so close to their territory.

I'm a traditionalist, I hate all this expansion..... but as a Kansas Citian I would love to have Mizzou in the SEC which would mean SEC coverage here in KC.

There is a lot of consternation here in KC over Mizzou leaving the Big 12 ---- probably means the loss of the Big 12 basketball tournament at the Sprint Center and the Big 12 football championship at Arrowhead ...a financial blow to the city.

So soon after expansion, Im not sure I can really see the big 12 adding again - especially for an odd-numbered team total after just realigning to create a new evenly balanced order

-Now, with that unexpected 1-2 hour delay in the announcement, i guess it wouldn't be as surprising -

But - as is - they're in the position that nothing should/likely would draw their eye to act immediately unless there's a really big fish to be had (read:Notre Dame)

That would be a little over the top IMO but the only organization that might could match the resulting TV contract would be the NFL.

IIRC, the SEC Presidents have agreed not to invite a school from the state of a current SEC school which means FSU is out and my guess is that OU joins the Pac-12.

Yeah we are a stigma in OU's eyes....they won't exactly elaborate why, but it's been known/out there for some time

That aside, OU will be staying in the big 12 as of now (at least until Texas tries to leave and goes independent - if they choose to do so)

I think we'll see OU, Tex, Tex Tech, Okla St join Pac-12 to give them 16 teams.

I think we'll see the SEC expand to 16.

I think we'll see Notre Dame join the Big 10 and possibly Missouri.. they will expand to 16.

I think we'll see the ACC and Big East come together in some way to form a 16 team conference.

After the 4 super-conferences are established, I think we'll see the BCS schools form their own seperate football sub-division. We'd then have the FCS, FBS, and BCS.

Each super-conference will have 4 divisions and the division champions will compete in a two round playoff to determine the conference champion. The 4 conference champions from the BCS will compete in a two round playoff to determine the BCS champion.

WVU has absolutely no chance of making it into the SEC. If Mizzou doesn't come, which I hope they don't, then we will simply sway one of the N.Carolina schools. What's $20m now when these schools are making long-term, 25-50+ year decisions. Still think we'll go for one of the VA or NC schools anyways.

Not going to happen

The PAC 12 already said no to expansion...Notre Dame would lose millions if they joined ANY conference...Never gonna happen.

I'm good with Missouri. Maybe that makes Auburn come over here. I'm good with that.

So did the SEC before they added Texas A&M.

They did that so that A&M could divorce the Big 12 first so no lawsuits...The Pac 12 is clearly not interested because Texas refuses to share money from the Longhorn network.

So did the SEC before they added Texas A&M.

The wording's very different in the two statements

We gave a "we're happy with the current 12 team setup (however we wouldn't be opposed to new membership, were the right team to come in the near or far future)"

Pac-12 gave a "we are happy at 12 teams and have no plans for expanding"....what happened there was they were set to take the four you mentioned, however during the contract discussions Texas - the one who was the main focus/sell of this deal - refused to change/share any of the money from its Longhorn Network. After enough negotiation attempts were attempted (& a wall was hit), the pac12 just said "forget this", tore everything up, and then turned down the other 3 (without TX, there was no desire for OU and the others)

ehhh whatever I guess. Missouri brings nothing to the table besides another market. I'm not excited about them playing in the SEC and would MUCH rather have WVU.

That would be a perfect conference IMO, JMO

It gives you a large state school in every single state in the South(excluding WV).

WV is not the South. The Midwest can have them.

Add Missouri. Move Bama and Auburn to the east and Vandy to the west.

Problem solved!

Congratulations, you just made the divisions ridiculously unbalanced (& the east into a gauntlet)
