I got this text on my cell a little while ago. Hopefully he will do a good job. Sounds like he is a good fit for our program with his recent relationship with Kiffin and Coach O.

not to mention he's a former UT All-American

Yeah. He really seems to be a better fit than Smith was. Not sure why Kiffin didn't go after him the first time.

I believe someone posted earlier that Kiffin mistakenly thought he had already been hired by Washington

Yeah. Although Im glad to see an alum, I am worried that he has been at N. Texas, and then their fans aren't even happy with him. S&C coaches are pretty important to a Football team. Let's hope this is a good move.

Yeah, I'm far more concerned about what a bunch of fans at a jerkwater program think than I am the recommendations of Pete Carroll, Ed Orgeron, and Lane Kiffin. Great point.

how many fans truly understand the S&C program. Many on that board (which had like 5 people going back and forth and 1 weird haiku poster) think it's bad for their program

Nooooooooooo...this is horrible news...living with some of the players all i heard about was how great the strength coach was and that he had once coached at USC and that he was really pushing the guys. this is horrible news and i hope we get someone equally as good.

Wasn't he a member here at one time? I seem to remember a thread asking what happened to him, can't remember his name.

Actually everyone in the thread started breaking into Haiku on subsequent pages. They said it was their new way to deal with bad news. I think it's hilarious

Sad to hear that M. Smith is leaving because he is one of the best S&C coaches out there, but glad we are getting this kid. He has some pretty good credentials with working at USC & having worked for Orgeron at Ole Miss. Its also a bonus that he is a graduate of Tennessee so we know the passion we def be there for him, he will push these kids hard!!
