According to Jimmy Hyams...

Perhaps they aren't firing him because they can't find a viable alternative.

Perhaps the healthy-minded viable alternatives are saying, they're not coming to coach for an ADpt who lets this type environment spiral on in yr 5/so close to recruiting. Well, I doubt that's the case, but maybe we'll know more after Sat nite-Mon.

Guys and gals I'm going to dispel some rumors. I 'm about to break a promise I made that I wouldn't post on here about this but I'm going to even knowing many of you won't believe or choose not to believe but here goes...And no I'm not looking for e-cred or anything else unless u want to send money :)

The decision to fire Butch Jones HAS NOT been made. As a matter of fact, Currie has made it clear he still supports Butch and if he doesn't have any embarrassing incidents and at least makes a mid tier bowl he may be retained. The buyout HAS NOT been negotiated as many are saying...that's quite obvious since the decision to fire Butch hasn't been made. So no, the Haslams haven't agreed to pay the buyout.

Now, here's the biggie on Gruden

Jon Gruden as of 10-27-17 has told all people close to him and the boosters who have reached out to him that he has NO DESIRE to coach in Knoxville. He does however intend the move to Knoxville after the ESPN cutbacks and MNF gets scrapped by ESPN. He has said he wouldn't mind being a consultant of some sort but coaching isn't something he wants to do at the college level. Now I know many of you are wanting the man so bad that what I've said isn't going to set well with you but that is indeed fact. I seriously doubt Currie is going to sway him to coach the Vols. He does as of now intend to attend the Southern Miss game so I can only imagine that the so called insiders on this forum are gonna get fired up with him there. It means nothing. One last tidbit..Currie HAS NOT reached out to ANY coach as of today because Butch Jones is his coach and may very well be his coach next year if he finishes 8-4 or 7-5 or doesn't get blown out by KY or any other team which he considers embarrassing.

That's all the facts I know. I have opinions but I'll keep them to myself so opinions don't get confused with facts. So there you go Volnation...theres the TRUTH as of today.

Let's not forget the cryptic Albert Haynesworth tweet. He indicated something good on the horizon. Hyams is not in the loop.

Why do people want to watch a pathetic vols team get demolished and (heres the kicker) in doing so support the COACH by spending money on tickets? Empty seats will get these players a better coach quicker than anything, since apparently record setting losses isn’t enough.

The seats are already paid for. The decision had already been made.

I can believe all of this. Hope you are ready for empty seats. Why would you want a coach that does not want to be here?

The seats are already paid for. The decision had already been made.

yeah, not sure what they're getting at. you can't sell the tickets to the next couple of games, so there's no worrying about a hostile take over like we saw with Bama a few years back.

the only opportunity that i think really exists is the LSU game. if people start selling their tickets to LSU fans, and there's a noticeable purple/gold tinge in the stadium....tht could be a tad ugly. but short of that, the money is in the bank, and not the concern for this year.

Only thing Curry will understand is empty seats. He loves his sheep that keep filling Neyland. I’ve thought for many years these folks are more interested in party than winning.

I dont know about all this stuff and your credibility and all, but most reasonable people already new that about Gruden.

As for Currie, his tune will change after we lose to Kentucky tomorrow. At some point he has to realize he starts hurting his own equity.

Then we might as well give up football. Does Tennessee have a lacrosse team?

If Currie's 'tune' hasn't changed by now, then he sucks at his job and UT football and sports in general are screwed...

Guys you're acting like a bunch of overreacting idiots.

It doesn't matter when Butch is gone. It just matters who we replace him with. Currie just has to make the right hire and it cements his legacy. No interim on this staff is going to fix that offense.

Does anyone really believe Butch finishes 7-5? Well be lucky to go 2-2 in our final four confirm games. If you toss in So Miss, that's 6-6. I actually think we lose 3 of 4 remaining SEC games.

Decision has already been made on Butch. Back channel contacts have already been in full force on several coaches as well. Butch and his family already know what's coming. He is getting to coach out the year if he can win a few games upcoming to hopefully land other employment. Believe it or don't.

I hope this isn't true, but Jimmy Hyams said that Butch might stay if the loss to Kentucky is close. I must admit, this is not very reassuring.

If he loses to Kentucky period, he should not be allowed to even set foot on UT's campus. Don't yall agree?

So, WILL Butch Jones actually be fired in the next five weeks?

If the above is actually what he said (see bold), then I would take that as Butch having second thoughts about resigning.

Hyams ass can go along with Butchy when he gets canned , tired of these old stubborn radio personalities like him with their stubborn I’m always right mentality.
