According to Fulmer "QB job is open"

It's confirmed, they held a press conference to announce that the job was up for QB between Stevens and Crompton, big whoop.... Why the heck does he need a press conference? How about the third quarter of the UCLA game, that would have been a better spot to do it.

No...JC will be one of the fake signal callers....less pressure.

This is good news, a bit late, but it represents progress by Phil and his staff.....maybe he decided to ckeck out the buzz on VN

Thanks Phil, weeze been waiting for ya to see the light...:zeitung_lesen:

Can't get much worse than 8-23 for 67 yards, and a fumble in the endzone. Used to be when a QBs statistics were bad, that a coach would say in his defense that "he doesn't get you beat". Can't say that with Crompton. It baffles me that something wasn't done after Florida.

They wouldn't be opening it up, if they weren't leaning toward starting Stephens IMO....I think this spells the end for Crompton, unless Stephens plays worse then Crompton in a game. Unlikely IMO.

If there was an ounce of leadership left, he had to make this move.

It probably should have come sooner, but I don't think anybody was prepared for Crompton to be this bad.

It's a press conference that's held every week...they didn't call it just to announce this. I figured that "it's open" was all that we would hear...makes me worry that the changes that need to be made won't be made.

I agree. As much of a head case that JC is, this won't help him get any better.

We're playing for next year anyways, UT isn't winning it this year. Don't be surprised if Stephens plays QB and Creer and Hardesty see more snaps at RB. You'd be stupid not to play your younger players now with 2 SEC losses.

That's my fear as well.

"Hey, we tried Stephens in practice and he didn't look as good as Crompton, so JC is in."

That's true. So far it's felt like a nightmare and everyone has been trying to wake up.
