According to Butch (actually it's not really)

I saw the presser and you are correct HE Did NOT say that

This thread is ironic, since he DID talk about communication and how you could say one thing to one person and have it pass around the room from person to person and the message would change.

The most important positions on the football field are the off/def lines... especially in the sec. For all of yall wanting to fire coaches remember thats why were in the situation. Stability builds programs, firing coaches year in and year out are just what moron fans say. UT has the best recruiter in the sec right now, butch brings in top 5 talent year in and year out. WE have good skill players and a sound defence, but until we recruit offensive lineman and give them a few years to develope were going to struggle. When our offensive line is this terrible we cant run the ball and worley cant have time to deleiver the ball. Its going to be a long season.. sorry to say that, but firing coaches ismt the answer. In defense of our oc, what play can he realistically call? we cant run the ball cause of our line, we cant throw the ball because our line, we run so many screens and sideways passes because we dont have time to run pass routes and patterns because of our line. I promise that coaching staff knows more in their pinky then the idiots i see calling for people fired on here and theyre def smarter than me too. Until we get top notch lineman in here and deveelope them we are going to be mediocre at best. It doesnt matter how many 5 star athletes we get until our line is fixed. thats the sad truth. but all of it takes time. Im just as tired of waiting as the next fan but butch is bringing us back and ill ride with him any day of the week. Losing hurts vol fans but dont be ignorant and start calling for coaches heads.. Havent yall learned that lesson by now? smh

I think the pressure may be getting to Butch a little. Not used to having his statements questioned.

Maybe but it's going to get considerably worse after a loss to Ole Miss and Bama. Part of the "process" is for these coaches to understand what it means to coach at a place like Tennessee and what it means to lose to a rival like Florida. I'm sure they will fully understand by the end of this season.

His response was to idiots in the media that continue to ask the same question over and over and over, that he has already answered. Probably could be said to some of the fans as well that continue to whine and moan and act like they know more than he does...as a great man once said, "if the shoe fits, lace that B)(*&^ up and wear it."

There are many things that we need to fix and need to improve on, this week is going to be about ourselves, continuing to get better against a good Chattanooga football team that is ranked 14th in the country. But everyone wants the prize but no one wants the process.

Schematically, we're doing the right things. We need to continue to progress. We need to improve our tempo. But, we're not just a zone-read football team. I think that's a myth. It just comes with people not really understanding run schemes and blocking schemes. You really watch it, and--I'm going to talk to Jimmy (Stanton). Maybe next year, part of this press conference is ten minutes with the coach. I'll come in and put the video on, I'm serious, and we'll go through the videotape. I'll show you so you can really see because we really do have a lot of good things going on, and we need to continue to progress. Maybe this spring, I'm serious, we hold a couple hour deal, and I'd be more than happy to go through everything with you."

Good job posting something contradictory to your OP.

Love and hate are separated by a very thin line of rationality.

When you love a team for as long as most of us have loved UT and hate to lose - especially to Florida as deeply as some of us do, then people cross the line of rationality and say (type) things they normally wouldn't say (or "do" in some instance like throwing the remote control at the flat screen).

Passionate fans go with the territory in big time college football.
