ACC Coach Sizes Up Georgia Tech

I don't really understand it my self. Playing them in Atlanta, they're not widely regarded as world beaters, but then at the same time they're a pain in the butt to prepare for. Paul Johnson also seems to have a massive SEC sized chip on his shoulder and relishes every opportunity to beat an SEC team and take a little shot at the conference.

Most ACC coaches have that same chip on their shoulders. Just ask Dabo or Jimbo Fisher.

Cut blocks aren't illegal but should be.
Employing them as aggressively as GT does is simply using the rule book to their advantage.
That blocking scheme is a chicken shat way to find a way to slow down the defenses to hang with the big boys!
Hate that crap, even when we on extremely rare occasions do it!

Seriously?

Butchers.

Man, the first two threads you guys had around here about Tech were a lot more straight forward and reasonable about cut blocking. Now the rhetoric is really escalating quickly.

You better hope that doesn't seep into the locker room.

Nobody is afraid of Georgia Tech. But since you mentioned the locker room, this little nugget from the bee forum will be all over the Tennessee locker room by 9am in the morning.

Definitely in their heads.
It's definitely chopblock o'clock in Knoxville.

When you hop back over to your forum, tell them to keep it up. We love locker room material.

In their defense, they have won a National Championship more recently than Georgia

It was a scant national title if there ever was one. Played in a very weak schedule, then played in the Peach Bowl against a lower your bowl team. No losses to a weak slate, but since the NCAA was stupid enough to crown a champion that way, its legit.

As scant as it was, it was more legit than Colorado.

Serious question here, I have some UT fans and they are not pleased with him being the coach at UT. If UT does not have a 10 plus win season they will probably want him gone. Is this the feeling of most UT fans? He seem to recruit good players.

No not even close. Most see the progress that he has made, but they feel that UT has lost several games that they should have easily won the past few seasons. That being said Butch can't continue to lose to Vanderbilt or South Carlonia. Another loss to Vanderbilt again that cost UT the SEC East will be catastrophic for Butch. Butch is a good coach, but with the talent that he has brought to UT the Vols should have won 10 or 11 games the past 2 seasons and or the SEC East. That's what upsets most UT fans.

Yeah, I know the rule. You said we commit a 15 yard personal foul every play. That's not true. We screw up and commit a chop block about once every other game on average.

ALL chop blocks, cut blocks or whatever you want to call them on the line of scrimmage needs to be illegal. If that means you all have to adjust your offense or even change it so be it.

Man, talk about moving the goal posts, lol.

Every NFL team cuts at the line on quick screens and slants. Zone blocking teams do it on pretty much every running down on the back side. If you turn all of college ball into a game of fatass ticklepush, you'll be doing a terrible job of preparing players to play at the next level.

I mean, if that's what you want, great. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I didn't figure I'd find advocates for the pussification of football in the UT fanbase though.

Real football involves big man blocking. Kitty cats dive at knees of bigger stronger men.

Tennessee has to hit harder first, play rougher, and faster than they do! This is how you avoid injuries!! Do whatever it takes to win!

Yea I'm wondering why GT scheduled those UT nobodies..... if we are nobodies y'all have to be as well right?

Guy may have come off little rude but he stated a fact. Y'alls cut blocking schemes are dirty and done that way on purpose. Other coaches teams and players have commented on it for years....nobody part was little uncalled for but you are on another teams board....its bound to happen

Tennessee's Walmart fans call September 4th a day that will live in infamy: Battle of the Wounded Knee... #StopTheKneeHate #KneesAreImportant What will they slap if they have no knees in Tennessee?

Yes, a cut block is coming to a knee near you. Your 2017 season is over and every defensive player will be out just like last season. In fact GT such a cut blocking SOB school that the unplayed 2017 game must be retroactively effecting 2016 (seeing how only GT cut blocks hurt defensive players).

To UT alumni... I look forward to a hard fought game with no injuries on either side.

We will see you in Atlanta. Don't shrivel up in there.

Chop blocks, yes. But why cut blocks? They aren't dangerous and you can show me any proof that they are. You can't even find a player injured by GT from a cut block.

Teams, and coaches complain because they don't like to face it. If it was dirty there would be a lot of injuries but there's not.
