ACC Championship: Clemson vs. SMU

SMU has no business in the top 25...much less a shot at the playoffs. Vandy would smoke them.
If I were petty, I would have saved the quotes of everyone claiming SMU was good. It’s always amazing how some people fall for this “TCU” gag every season.

If any team not from the SEC deserves any credit for SOS, it’s Clemson for scheduling Georgia. They would have been 10-2, comfortably in the top 10 even after losing to South Carolina.

Let’s let Clemson into the SEC and take ND, too.

Let's not. Already too much enemy orange in the SEC and it angers me that Texas's sorry butt is in the SEC.

I am fine with Clemson and ND coming in as long as Missouri and TAMU leave.

Well people can debate player rankings all day long but if a team's avg recruiting class is around 45 for the last 4 years or 55 in the case of Indiana, you just aren't going to be able to compete with elite teams. I'm a firm believer that coaches can over or under achieve but there is a limit. You just aren't going to win against the big boys consistently without the horses....and before someone brings up the portal- teams that recruit well, do well in the portal.

ND won't join a conference and if they do, they're a cultural fit for the B1G, not the SEC.

Clemson, unless lawsuits work, is tied by a things called a "Grant of Rights" like all the ACC schools until 2036, I think it is. Even if they leave the ACC, they'd have to give the TV revenue they earn in the SEC to the ACC.

None of the ACC schools are leaving until one of them manages to break the Grant of Rights or the entire conference folds.

Even if they were loaded with talent, they haven’t faced anyone respectable this season.

Someone needs to make the current committee members watch this game while saying “no!” every time SMU’s rank pops up. The committee members made asses of themselves and we didn’t even have to wait for the playoffs for it to surface.

These Dr Pepper halftime contests have gotten worse every year. First play for cash instead of bs tuition nonsense. Second, you have to throw a football like a football instead of the ridiculous chest pass.

I want to see Boz rushing them from ten yards out. If Bosworth gets the sack, Dr. Pepper donates the money to charity.

Probably, but still, like Lashlee said, if his entire team got covid and had to forfeit they would 100% be in.
It’s a flawed system. The BIG 10 and SEC seem to have an agreement to get the same number of teams each year. Not everyone can be in the BIG 10 and SEC. I would rather see Miami than a 9-3 Bama team. Pretty much says Bama is in every year going forward.

Yep. They go get beta males or women and rarely do they ever throw the football like it’s supposed to be thrown.
It’s maddening
