Definitely should have gotten another snap or two out of that. Even 5-10 extra seconds would’ve let us throw something underneath and set up a FG attempt at the end of the half.
I think sometimes we are so hung up on playing hurry up that we actually burn clock not calling timeouts or clocking it.
I think you’re right. We kind of tried to have it both ways and ended up wasting some time. Needed about 5 more seconds to take a shot on 3rd down.I think the first 30 seconds or so we wasted was intentional. I don’t like the call, but I think it was.
After that we moved fairly quick. Like the 3rd down we run power, get the first, and snap the ball after only 1 second, that was impressive.
The last two plays Joey took too long and he needs to run out of bounds. Also needs to throw into the dirt rather than the stands to save time.
There are a number of posters on this board who played or coached sports at a high level who disagree with your opinion. Some who did neither but know better as well. It's not because they have lower standards than you. It's simply because they are more informed on the matter than you. You sound more like an entitled fan than anythingOnce again, it all depends on what you consider “excellent”. Maybe you’d be happy for the next 20 years winning 8-10 a year but never coming close to another SEC championship, not to even mention a natty. That’s where we’re at. It’s easy to throw numbers out there that don’t really paint the true picture.
Cheer these numbers all you’d like but I’m not going to use those numbers as my “excellent” standard because I know they’re just that. Numbers. If me not being content with never winning another SEC title or natty makes me an “ignorant” fan, I’ll happily wear that label.
I can live with my high standards being “ignorant”. You keep living with your low standards being “excellent”.

This is always a lame response. There is no guarantee with any hire. You take a chance at getting a better coach or you don’t. You can’t tell the future.
Ga had a heupel some years ago. His name was richt. He’d win you 8-10 a year but could never when the big ones when it mattered. Sound familiar? They took a chance. Does Kirby ring a bell?
Does Dooley, Pruitt and Jones ring any? This is always a lame response. There is no guarantee with any hire. You take a chance at getting a better coach or you don’t. You can’t tell the future.

UGA is literally a missed FG from being 3-2 and ranked 22nd. People are really going to struggle with caveman coach killer mentality while this new reality has NIL killing depth and a 9 game SEC schedule making it where good teams lose a couple of games like the NFL.If we can consistently be around 10 wins over 2 decades, we will win an SECCG
The ignorance is assuming you can predict the future.
Have you never watched a NC Ohio State, Bama, or Georgia team struggle with inferior competition and barely win a game late? The idea that this is evidence that we need a new coach or that we will never be able to win an SECCG with CJH is truly ignorant because it makes it seem as if you’ve never seen any team other than UT play.
GA’s reign of superiority is over…. At least for the time being. They’re talented, but nowhere near being dominant like they were 3-4 years ago.UGA is literally a missed FG from being 3-2 and ranked 22nd. I don’t have any issue with that play call. They needed to pick up the first down. However, they said have immediately called timeout instead of trying to run another play
More than likely the winner of the SEC is going to have 2 losses.UGA is literally a missed FG from being 3-2 and ranked 22nd. Huh? We destroyed their QB the whole game. The only reason they had so much success running the ball is because we played most of the game with a light box for some reason. And Joey had plenty of time to throw most of the game.I think that goes too far.
What stood out to me today the most is how significantly State won the LOS on both sides of the ball.
Those of you saying Heup playing not to lose is not remotely the case. Butch Jones was a play not to lose coach and Heup isn’t anywhere near what Butch was as a coach. Tonight was just a drop of the ball on clock management. Heup had plays already called and the timeframe in his head allowed for that. Issues arised with that timeframe when we scrambled and seconds ticked away. It was on Heup at that point for not recognizing that and salvaging what time was left and adjusting. Definitely crapped away end of regulation opportunity to win. But he isn’t coaching to not lose IMO.
Not saying it was good or bad clock management - but will say had they went fast and went three and out and gave MSU time to mount a winning field goal drive, you all would be saying he should have taken more time off the clock.
He's throwing balls way too high. The throw to the tight end was a fastball up high. Difficult to make a catch. Saw receivers making catches above their head that were dropped last year. Gotta bring those passes down to the chest or belt. Two INTs were in the receiver’s hands. They were not on JA’s arm. There should be new a INT stat line: QINT and RINT.
