Actually, Kentucky is technically our oldest rivalry and the team we've played more than anybody else. I'm totally happy with the new format. We really got the best of both worlds with manageable yearly matchups and being able to see every SEC team in a home and home series every 4 years. I don't see how people can complain about that. I'm super excited to see Texas come to Neyland next fall.I agree. Florida game is one of the biggest weeks of the year to a generation of Vol fans. To hell with Kentucky they don’t deserve to play us every year
We can thank the Kiffin, Dooley, Butch, Pruitt era for that record. They won what, one game combined? Even though Fulmer struggled our record was 6-9 from 1990 through 2004 which is at least respectable. It is a shame that we are trending up and Florida could be headed for dark years like us where we may have a chance to even things up a bit, but really we always find a way to lose to FL even when they are terrible. I say good riddance as wellI am not going to miss the losing. 8-25 since expansion. Good Riddance
But for KY fans, playing is once a year is there super bowl!!This does suck.
Truth is we got two historical cupcakes and Bama. Boo hoo 100 vs Kentucky, but for once I’m almost in agreement with D4H.
Bama is obvious for being a big deal since the league formed.. Vandy because it is instate.
We’ve lost historical rivalries before such as Ole Miss and Auburn, but I’ve never met a Tennessee fan who is fired up for Kentucky hate week the way we do Florida or Bama.
Nobody really cares about Kentucky. This ain’t basketball. They don’t put in the effort or resources to consistently field a competitive program.
We already have one program with a ceiling of 9 wins at the very best. Now we have 2 of them.
Since when was 6-9 respectable?? This is 2025... shoulda been 13-2We can thank the Kiffin, Dooley, Butch, Pruitt era for that record. They won what, one game combined? Kentucky sucks ass. I’d rather play somebody with some reputation as a permanent rival.Actually, Kentucky is technically our oldest rivalry and the team we've played more than anybody else.
