Absolute Clarity On DR

All summer I feared this was going to happen and now it has.

Just D@MN!!!!!

Bad enough 1 of my favorite Titans breaks his leg tonight and is out for the season and now this happens too.

It's way past time for our Vols to get on a long streak of good luck for a change.

VFL...GBO!!!

Romney isn't going to legalize weed anymore the Obama. This country's war on drugs is absurd at best. If weed was legal which it should be it would solve a great many of this country's problems. I'm sure it's been discussed ad nauseam on here just like everywhere else but this witch hunt for everyone that might smoke a joint is a joke. This rant really doesn't include college football players because rules are rules. I'm speaking more of the average guy working at KUB or Mcdonalds for that matter that risks losing his job because he likes to smoke a little weed from time to time. Anyone that thinks smoking weed is worse then alcohol obviously can't think for themselves and just listen to what the government feeds them.

Legalizing pot wouldn't solve any problems, it'd just create more. Experience with legalized alcohol shows that people will not exercise moderate or sensible use of a vice. So instead of the usual host of drunk drivers putting us and our kids all to jeopardy, you'd also have more stoned drivers doing the same. History shows that when it comes to ingesting harmful substances, people will always find excuses to do it to excess. Consequences be dayumed.

Agreed 100%. But how many people get high and beat their wife, or plow into a car full of kids while high? I love alcohol, BUT, it's much safer of the wrongs that prevail in our society. I no longer smoke weed, but I think as far as a community goes, it's the best of the worst.

In my experience, people whose goal is to justify their own continued "misbehavior" grasp and claw at myths to do so.

I bet UGA fans are loving this.

Not all of us, honestly. I hate seeing such a great talent who just does not get it. God has blessed you with rare talent, you have a chance to set yourself and your family financially, and you want to throw it all away. I hope Rogers wakes up.

Yes siree..

I got you man, I'm just sick of everyone on here being so pissy with other UT fans.

If someone brings info, whatever the source, appreciate it, don't rake them over the coals for it.

If you disagree, state your reasons for such, but don't resort to character assasination, name calling, bashing, and mocking as some have done.

These are Vol fans that are trying to help people out.

Sometimes people forget that.

Exactly..There are too many Bammers, Gator and UGA posters on here so fight with them and not fans of the same school. Its truely sad. I would rather fight with an Ala, UF, Uga, usce, etc fan anyday over a fellow Vol. Thats just me though, i truely hate those 4 plus ND.

NyQuil and similar drugs are legal and available OTC. When these types of drugs were taken to market and introduced to society did the number of intoxicated drivers increase? Not to mention the amount of narcotics available via prescription drugs that shadow marijuana's potency.

Just curious.

Maybe his LOL's are for the irony maybe? If not, he's an idiot. Coming from somebody that plays with DR and CP I can believe it. In fact, I'll take it further. I have never been all that geek'd up about DR. I just haven't seen what everybody else is going gaga over. I take it back to the SC game. Granted, it was only one play. But, man, catch that td pass already. I've seen enough of him to say that he's basically average in the SEC.

There has been a lot of nonsense posted here since the word came down on DR. This one is definitely in the running for the most absurd post.

And the "DR wasn't that great" posts start on cue.

Look, Rogers didn't have breakaway speed, and we all saw him drop sure TD's. The reason he looked good last year was because he was Bray's #1 option, much the same way that Joey Kent was Manning's favorite target.

(Astute readers will realize that Manning essentially *gave* Kent great stats, much the same way that time will prove that Bray *gave* Rogers stats.)

The bottom line is this: Hunter is the real deal, CP *may be and probably IS the real deal* and Rogers was above average, but not great, and the beneficiary of great quarterbacking.

And I'm sure you thought this before he was released. Methinks you suddenly came to this conclusion..oh...sometime in the last 24 hours.

Just stop with the stupidity.

I love how Da'Rick is all of a sudden "an average SEC wide receiver" or "above average but not great" when he's no longer on the team. Part of that "didn't want him anyway" syndrome that hits the recruiting forum when we miss on a bigtime player, I guess.

Make no mistake: Da'Rick is an excellent receiver. He had a very real shot at being the best WR in the country this year. We can still have a great year without him, but this one hurts.

It's a Vol tradition; awesome players/coaches suddenly become average when they leave or are kicked off the team.

Only thing that is obviously amiss with DR is above his shoulders. Physically, he's a freak of nature and nearly impossible to cover 1v1 in college football. That tends to translate quite well into the NFL. Degrading his physical talents makes no sense if you have watched more than five minutes of competitive football. Weak points.

Hilarious considering he was first team all SEC and preseason All-American. Oh, and that first round talent that NFL scouts says he has.

Yeah, I totally stand behind my statement. He won't make any F-in All America Teams, No SEC First, Second or Third, he won't make any first downs or touchdowns or anything. Remember, a car with a great paint job, stereo system, etc., ain't worth sh-t w/o an engine.

He's not playing this year. So he's actually not average. And he's a cancer on this team. So, if you lump all the stuff that you lump together when you eval somebody, he's average. Well below average.

If he were to pass his next test in 30 days, he would be eligible for reinstatement. However, highly unlikely we see him in orange again.

It's very likely he will pass the next test in 30 days depending on what drugs he tested positive for, assuming he stays clean until then. You can literally pass another test in 7 to 8 days if not sooner that you previously failed. The real question at that point will be, are there other reasons he was suspended and is the staff willing to give him another chance.
