That's it. The remainder of his coaching career was in the NFL.

Butch can't hide behind the facts of how his team has played this year, everyone knows three more games could have been lost. The first red flag was a Thursday night against Appy, there are problems with the program and to pretend they don't exist is foolish. I believe this staffs coaching even before this year has had a direct effect on this years recruiting class and am afraid it will only get worse. I think most fans will agree we have about the fourth or fifth best coach in the east, the honeymoon is over and the recruiting will only get harder with other coaches pointing out that this was Butchs year and has under performed. We have what have.

Until this administration wants our football team to be one of the best, they have to hire a great coaching staff. They have not showed in the past that it is a top priority. So as far as being stable I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

The numbers speak for themselves. He can recruit. Keep in mind that the 2012 class was him picking up Dooley's prices.
As for any comparison to Dooley, that's a load of crap. Our team's record has done nothing but improve since Butch has shown up. Every year we've gotten better and better. For the first time in a decade Tennessee has been mentioned in the same breath as a national championship even if it was a long shot. We've got our problems right now for sure. But laying the entire blame for the program at the feet of the coach and thinking that firing him is going to solve all of our problems is horse****. Now go que up the Jon Gruden airplane sightings threads for 2016.

What good are those rankings when you have 5 star players jumping ship and a bushel full of 4 star players that can't seem to get on the field and produce?

And despite all this, he is infinitely more qualified to run an offense than Jones or DeBord.
