About the Gaffney play.....

Not only that . . . when he signaled TD, he didn't just raise his arms, he pumped them up and down a few times as if to say he was REALLY sure it was a TD even though the ball was on the ground.
I know. That po'd me even more when he did that. I, too, was at that game and it looked to me like the ball went straight through his arms without even hesitating on it's way to the turf. I was livid for hours after that game.

Im not certain but I believe a coach can blackball one official in his tenure and that is the one Coach Fulmer exercised his option on.

Thanks everyone. I will stick to reading and not posting. I may however, be the first Vol fan who was told to go away from VN by a Gator. Sheesh. I only wanted to say that if there was a false start, the argument about whether it was a catch or not is irrelevant. The play should have been whistled before dead before the snap.

Go Vols.

The real bad call was how Fla. got the ball back. Henry rushed for a first down. All we had to do was kneel on the ball and the official called our split end for being off the ball. I was also at the game and was watching that reciever the official clearly dropped his arm (a signal that the reciever was on the line) then he threw the flag. but for that call fla. never gets the ball. That was the worst officiated game in TN history.

I must have been pretty deep in the Jack Daniels at this game. I remeber the game being close and Gaffney dropping the ball that was ruled a TD. Unless you guys have this game taped somehwere, to remember these other false starts and such during the game so clearly is pretty impressive.

So the well-known UT paranoia has now reached the point that an official who went to Vandy had the wherewithal to make an instantaneous decision that went against you, just because he went to Vandy?

Wow. Some group counseling is in order.

When a call is that epically bad, logic goes out the window.

See there, everyone was bashing the guy about his post now it's a interesting discussion. Ya'll should have just left the dude alone and discussed his question in the 1st place

Once again, my post had nothing to do with the catch. My question dealt with whether anyone else noticed the obvious false start. The play should have been dead before the argument over the catch commenced. Anyone out there with a link to the replay?

Now back to the sidelines for me.

I'm not sure it really matters which end of the play had the blown call. There is some satisfaction in knowing that Gaffney has had a somewhat less than spectacular pro career.

Stop going to the sidelines and talk football, you have to ignore some of the people on here. If a Gator fan, Wildcat fan, and a Cal fan is welcome here, then you are more than welcome to post anything you want. Just try not to be so thin skinned. If everyone took what everyone else said so seriously, then nobody would post. Everyone here has been criticized for our post. Welcome to the board
