I must say that today was the first time in a long time I remembered thinking "Damn, they (LSU) are going to be feeling this game for the next couple of weeks." Vols were laying the wood out there today. Reminded me of the good ol' days.

Yeah, they were hitting hard. No doubt about that. We left a MASH unit on the field for LSU. And what was up with the gay LSU covering up with sheets the staff working on the LSU QBs finger. That was stupid.

Yeah, not like it was a big secret or anything...guy was bleeding through his damned bandage for God's sake.

We brought the pipe hitters today, very nice to see but one man, ainge and his head, cost us the game. way too many missed opportunities.. I have been an Ainge supporter all season and defended him but today showed he can't handle the pressures of big games. Terrible

I was impressed with the way our defense flew to the ball and brought the wood to LSU. Can't wait to see them improve on this performance next year.

Defense played good enough to win the game today. Too bad the offense was atrocious. They laid some licks out there. And Berry and Mayo are going to be superstars by the time they are finished.

I was at the game and can tell you LSU will feel this in the morning. Our defense laid some unbelieveable licks on them. Our defensive guys are going to be excellent next year. Future looks good if we quit being so conservative and predictable.

it doesn't look like he will play a whole lot right now, but then again there is a whole offseason for him to improve

I have to admit, that's the best I've seen the defense look in a few years. They should be commended. It's a crying shame the offense couldn't help them out even an inkling during the game, but such is life.

The defense finally put together a good game. I never dreamed they'd only give up 14 points. If someone had told me the Tennessee defense held LSU to 14 points, I'd have almost assumed a Tennessee win.

It's really ironic...all season, we've been able to score over 30 and still manage to lose. Today the defense finally shows some heart and gets physical, and the offense goes anemic on them. If it's not one thing, it's another...

On a side note, I do feel like Berry will be the best secondary player to ever come through Tennessee. He is something special for sure.

That Berry kid is unreal. He WILL be the best secondary player to ever come through this program. I thought Deon Grant was great at reads, but this kid sees everything.

At the end of the 1st half, i turned to my dad and said, "I don't know how we're winning this game... but at least we're holding them to FGs right now.."

and then i saw the halftime stats:
LSU time of possession: 22 mins
UT time of possession: 8 mins

and then i said: "we're not gonna have a defense left for the 2nd hafl.."

once again, we had trouble tackling, but i do tip my hat to the D for carrying the game 4 quarters. Eric Berry is a star and came through big time.

but as usual, hefney still sucks... and how anybody didn't know a fake punt wasn't coming when it did, late in the game, knowing les miles, is just bewildering.

With Flynn out, Doucet and Holliday knocked out, and Perrilloux having a thigh contusion and gashed finger I kind of expected Hester to stop getting 20 yards on the dive play. Other than that (and the safty allowing the TD pass when he's lined up OUTSIDE the hashmarks--was that Hefney?) I loved the way our defense played. By the end of that game the LSU offense was scared to take a hit, and players were taking themselves out of the game--this one is on Ainge's head.

Our defense has been held back by coach John Chavis and his bend but don't break philosophy all year. LSU was allowed to move the ball at will in the first half by this philosophy. It is a credit to the players that they were able to lead at the half while being held back by Coach Chavis in the first half.

Our defense we absolutely OUTSTANDING in the second half when they were allowed to play an aggressive in the face of the receivers style defense. They changed the momentum of the game and gave us a chance to win a game many thought we couldn't win.

Unfortunately their efforts were not rewarded with a win!!!

Thank you defense for a superior performance against one of the best teams in the Nation!!!!!!
