Fulmer is an ok coach but we need someone who can take the team to the next level and honestly Fulmer has done all he can.Why because he doesnt win the SEC every year? I would give my right arm to have the seasons the Vols have had during his run.
No raise is needed, but a job well done considering the circumstances.
Not when we go on the road and defeat Cal next September, when everyone will again pick Cal. We have a Heisman-worthy player in Erik Ainge, and with one more offseason with David Cutcliffe, his ability will be even greater than his best was this season. I cannot wait to start the next season, to prove NegaVols wrong again.
What circumstances? Oh, the circumstances Fill got himself into? Keeping incompetent coaches on the staff because he demands loyalty, paranoid that he will get the same treatment he gave Johnny? He did good getting rid of Sanders, Washington, and Stevens. Now, Slade needs to go. Again, we don't need to get too happy on congratulating him on the "big turn around" this year, because he is the reason we are in this position.
I really do not think Tennessee football has made the turnaround that we are capable of. Therefore, after witnessing PSU outcoach us, there is no way in hell that Fulmer should get that raise that Hamilton was talking about. No way! Until we can win the big games, then no raise. As much money and effort that goes into this program, we should expect to win these types of games, and we should! Until then, no raise. We need to step up from being mediocre. Your thoughts?
Here are a few circumstances:
Injuries, losing defensive players to the draft, an incident at Goodfellas Pizza, Lee Smith driving on the sidewalk on Johnny Majors Drive, the whole media making a big deal about Lee Smith having an affair with a teacher that turned out to be false.
All of these issues can hurt a football team's success, and for Tennessee to get 9 wins is improvement considering what happened.
