Fulmer is an ok coach but we need someone who can take the team to the next level and honestly Fulmer has done all he can.
dont get me wrong Fulmer is a great guy just not the right fit anymore.

What circumstances? Oh, the circumstances Fill got himself into? Keeping incompetent coaches on the staff because he demands loyalty, paranoid that he will get the same treatment he gave Johnny? He did good getting rid of Sanders, Washington, and Stevens. Now, Slade needs to go. Again, we don't need to get too happy on congratulating him on the "big turn around" this year, because he is the reason we are in this position.

At the risk of repeating myself, the "Negavols" realize Fill is the reason we are in the position we are in now. He has made changes to improve the situation, but not before the fire was lit under his 56" waistline and talks of firing him were rumbling. I believe we are on the right track again, but he should have never allowed us to get to this point. I don't think he will in the future, but we will see. He is having a great year recruiting. Hopefully, out uninspired performance won't turn any recruits away.

Here are a few circumstances:

Injuries, losing defensive players to the draft, an incident at Goodfellas Pizza, Lee Smith driving on the sidewalk on Johnny Majors Drive, the whole media making a big deal about Lee Smith having an affair with a teacher that turned out to be false.

All of these issues can hurt a football team's success, and for Tennessee to get 9 wins is improvement considering what happened.

I'm fairly middle of the road in the Fulmer v anit-Fulmer vein, and have been saying for a while now that this coming year is very big for him. Either we compete for the SEC Champ (i.e. play for or no more than 1 game out), or its time to start testing the waters... no raise this year. I think raises should be given for exceptional or exemplary performance, and this season does not qualify. And someone making $2+ million doesn't need a cost of living adjustment. A message needs to be made - that is, average performance will not be rewarded.
