Abortions and the bible.

How would you explain to your child that you had an abortion? Or would you never tell them? What explanation would you give for why you did it? How would you expect your teen to respond? How about an adult child?
My sister-in-law is publicly posting on facebook how she can't imagine what she would have done if she didn't have the funding (when she was a pregnant teen) from her mom to have her daughter, then she wouldn't have been allowed to abort her. She's publicly stating that she's upset about the prospect that she couldn't have aborted her now 5-year-old daughter.

The psychological ramifications of this are too scary to even venture down, but yes 100% if her daughter finds out that her mother would have killed her if not for _______, then she would most definitely be horribly affected.

I'm sure this is not uncommon.

Good grief. What the *BLEEP* is wrong with that woman?

Because abstinence education has proven to be very effective in the past.
What abstinence education? I never got any. My dad would tell me when I left to go on a date or a night out "buy some rubbers". The only abstinence education my kids get is from my wife and me. It isn't taught in school and I doubt it is pressed much in church nowadays. Our country has become so over-sexualized that casual sex is almost expected behavior anymore. We ditched cable about 5 years ago because there was so much smut on network TV, not to mention cable channels. We try very hard to keep smut away from our kids' eyes and ears. Unfortunately we are in the small minority and we aren't with our kids 24/7.

You are still accepting the risk of pregnancy unless you were forced into sex. If you willingly engage in unprotected sex, you have accepted the risk of pregnancy. Prevention is much easier, cheaper, and acceptable than abortion.
We, as parents, HAVE to educate our kids on the risks of birth control as well as unprotected sex AND the benefits of self control.

You can continue to say the same thing but it doesn't make it true.

Like being killed? Life takes precedent such as a 17 year old child cannot be killed to supply a parent their internal organs because the parent decides that they dont want to be forced to have failing organs.

The split in the road is simply placed to "what is a baby in the womb". Is it a person who inherently has the natural rights that all persons have or is it something else. Pro abortion people believe it is something else. Prolife people believe they are a person, therefore has a natural right to live. First and foremost. The mother carrying made a decision prior to the baby being formed to accept that risk. Arguing otherwise is arguing for the ability to sacrifice another persons life to expunge responsibility of that decision.

The arguments from pro life are much stronger and significantly more consistent than pro abortion, which is all over the map.

Your examples are not analogous. In this instance, you are forcing a woman to do something she does not wish to do. You are elevating the rights of the unborn above that of the living.

What part of it is false?

You keep saying that by engaging in sex you are accepting all the risks of pregnancy. That is the crux of the entire dispute. I say that you are not that there is another option. You want to strip the rights of the living and subordinate them to the the rights of the unborn.

If you willingly have sex without using birth control how are you not accepting the risk of pregnancy?

Yeah, options for atheists/agnostics

1. Get free birth control. Many sources. Or, just grab a jimmy from any gas station, many public restrooms, drug store, grocery

2. Roll the dice like a moron, let the flying spaghetti monster in the sky decide if you make a baby, get a disease, etc.

3. Roll the dice, get pregnant, go to planned parenthood etc and murder an innocent life growing inside you or your gf...

Yeah guys. All us conservatives are crazy. We are dumb as sheit for saying that number 1 beats the brakes off stupid number 2 and in many cases stupid, permanent, damaging number3.

Never even mentioned abstinence. Which is better than 1, 2, or 3. But i know, thats just crazy talk and these lefties think theres no problem with sexual deviancy in many cases, much less premarital sex. So i didnt even make it a choice for the majority of folks.

Still...is it too much to expect PEOPLE who claim to be adult and intelligent enough to be engaging in sexual acts that you have to be 18 years old to even see on a movie screen, much less experience, is it too much to expect them to not be too damn lazy or stupid to choose number 2 or 3...when number 1 is free? And girls, if having sex with you isnt important enough for him to go drop a 5 spot on a pack of rubbers...do you think you should be having sex with him? Isnt your disease free future worth 5 bucks??

How do yall even defend this bullcrap?

I place a higher value on the civil liberties of the born over those of the unborn.

The born vs unborn qualifier is completely arbitrary. living is living. Being "unborn" is inconsequential. You dehumanize a baby to justify murder and thats a ****** argument.

Who’s suggesting we kill mothers?

Nobody. I never suggested such a thing.

You are forcing a person to undertake a risk which they do not wish. Thus placing the rights of the unborn over those of the born and living. I'm not sure how you can even quibble with that point. In fact, I'd think you would embrace it.

Find other instances where we force one person to bear risk for the welfare of another.

The quibbling is with your obvious inability to see the difference in fates.
Then sex is a risk they shouldn’t take.
You have one being forced to do what nature has already decided and another who wants to destroy the other to avoid the consequences of their actions. Maybe we can find a way for mother’s to be able to find their abortion by selling off their babies body parts.

What "risk"? It is pregnancy, not a disease. I do not follow the "risk" angle. (I know that there are rare cases, but the overwhelming majority carry no "risk")
