I think the question we all need to ask about the program is simple. Is the ability there, but the results aren't, or are we achieving on a level equal to our talent? If the ability is there without results, the coaching is clearly to blame. If the talent is lacking, we either need better recruiting, more patience, or a combination of both.

Great coaches bring in great players faster. Saban brought in T Cody and James Carpenter from juco to anchor both lines. Add them to the few players he inherited and some very talented freshman he recruited and you get a quick turnaround. If DD recruited a little better we would already be deeper so injuries would not have hurt us so bad.

So you believe that injuries to the teams #1 wr and #1 qb should have been overcome through coaching

Here are the top player rankings, my opinion, but it shows what has happened to this season when you factor in the depth issues behind these players. Not only were these guys supremely talented but they were replaced by freshmen in most cases or guys with much less talent. You simply can't judge the coaching staff yet.

Best player...J. Jackson (out)
2nd best player...J. Hunter (out)
3rd best player...T. Bray (out)
4th best player...M. Jackson
5th best player...D. Rogers
6th best player...H. Lathers (out)
