He stood rite up to that BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've enjoyed the great dialogs y'all have here on lots of subjects and rarely ever post but...
Good for Douglas. Great character and I know his dad is proud of him.
On Orgeron...come on...y'all LOVED Orgeron when he played cut-throat/take-no-prisoners/rules-be-damned for the Big Orange. Don't even deny it. You freaking loved him swashbuckling across HS campuses, pushing the envelope of recruiting rules well beyond design tolerance. You knew what he was but you didn't care. You aided and abetted him with your silence (at worst) and your outright admiration (at best). It was a Faustian bargain. Regret it, OK. But don't get too high-minded about what Orgeron is. You knew what he was when you picked him up, as they used to say about the rattlesnake.
Suddenly, a lot of y'all are getting awful righteous when it comes to ethics and recruiting and for the last 14 months, not only didn't it matter, you supported it and shouted down people who have voiced concerns about Ogre and Kiffy. I'm here enough to have seen it time after time, and I've experienced it live with friends.
I think Dooley will play to win, hard and competitive, but I don't see him being a liar and an ethical snake. I hope he makes UT competitive in every way, the right way. The SEC needs a strong Tennessee. Good luck.
I'm a little slow and not too bright, so someone is going to have to break this down for me.According to John Brice of VolQuest on The Nation during Xs last team meeting with the team Aaron Douglas stood up and led the team. The exchange, according to Brice went like this:
X was telling them how sorry he was and that Tennessee meant a lot to him.
Then after O called the first recruit Douglas stood up and said, Why is this guy calling OUR recruits?
X responded: I have no knowledge of that.
Douglas then told the recruits to tell X what O did and they put O on speaker.
X: I cant control what Coach O does.
Douglas: Well you hired him didnt you?
Brice said this was the conversation minus the language he also said other players were impressed with his leadership and he was a great leader. Im glad Aaron Douglas is in orange and white and he will be a great player for us.

While Kiffin was telling the team he was leaving, Orgeron just happened to be there in the room calling recruits? How did Douglas know to bring that up if it wasn't going on right there in front of them?
Best post I've ever read on any site. Kudo's and I'm right there with ya. I didn't want EO here to begin with, but you are exactly right. Many of the bashers were lovers of his until he tried to screw UT over.I've enjoyed the great dialogs y'all have here on lots of subjects and rarely ever post but...
