Aaron Douglas (merged)

Kid is heading to USC - you can bet on it. Daddy's just mad because he wants where he goes to be a family decision. I believe it can be, you just have to pony up the money for his tuition and he could go wherever he wants.

Well, I hope SoCal is good to him and that its worth it in the long run.

After reading the new Douglas article on GovolsXtra and how much Douglas loves Cregg, maybe the rumor of him going JUCO and transferring to USC isn't so far fetched after all. I admit, when I started the thread of what the guy said when he called into the local tri-cities radio show and claimed someone inside the program said Douglas told them he was going Juco then transferring to USC, I thought it was just another rumor. Sounds like the guy might have actually known what he was talking about. I didn't believe it personally, that's why the thread was titled the latest Aaron Douglas rumor. I'm not so sure now.

After reading that article, my only thought is good riddance!

As much as we crack on some former players, I don't think this is a case where it's warranted, IMO. Kid just didn't have it in him to go through his 3 position coach and HC in 3 years. Good luck, is a much better way to put it.

UT has 3 players on the Depth Chart at Offensive Tackle. 3 freaking players, apparently 2 to start and 1 to back up both of them.

UT needed this player, but Dooley's attitude I don't get. Douglas has a drug problem and needs help. So Dooley just gives up on him and lets him go? It's not good for Douglass it's not good for UT.

You promise these players everything to get them here, and after they are here you don't go out of your way to keep them in school and on the team? I don't get it.

Saw a "political" cartoon

1960....Kid makes and F on report card; the parents are disciplining the child.

2010....Kid makes and F on report card. Parents blaming the teacher.

This situation sounds likes 2010; America in a sad state of affairs. It starts with the apathy and lack of the family structure.

Hope our country will wake up and grow up so situations like these will be diminished.

God bless America and the Vols.

Aaron's problems lie much deeper than just drug use.

I still expect him to land in the SEC.

I don't know Sab. You have a good point, and I would have agreed with you a week ago, but it sounds like AD has this thing all planned out. I feel like he is planning on going to USC. I think he's crazy personally, but I really believe that's where he ends up, based on his comments about Cregg.

I can understand the kid being upset over the coaching changes, but the really reason he chose to transfer is because he was unhappy in Tennessee and couldn't take it anymore... plus drugs were most likely involved---dare i say mind-altering drugs...

I love how he stated how much he loves the vols. He had a free ride tp the school he grew up following. The school his parents went to. And the school he made a commitment to. Now he is living us in the most important time in our history. At our worst spot. Our lone returning starter. Its still a privilege to play at U T in front of 100,000 screaming fans and this guy acts like its a curse. Go play for kiffen. A guy you only known for a year. Yall two weasels deserve each other.

:lolabove: Ya.....good luck Drugless......and don't let the door hit you in the azz on the way outta town!! yo Daddy must be soo proud o' ya!! Have fun with the USC rap=scene.....I'm sure you will fit right in!! :eek:lol:

Two things to take note of here if you are trying to predict where Douglas ends up:

#1 He transferred to a JuCo school which is the route to take if you are going to transfer somewhere in-conference.

#2 The family seemed very upset over the release conditions which expressly prohibited him from transferring in-conference.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Georgia or Alabama.

If he was going to USC all along, do you honestly think they would care what the release restrictions were?

I agree with this.. I was thinking the same thing when I saw a picture of him driving some kind of expensive looking car on his facebook.

It looks like he might want to go to USC with Cregg but he seems to be the type of kid that would change his mind about that if Cregg didn't return a text or call.. Who knows where this kid will end up.. I wouldn't expect him to get any better at that JUCO, IMO..

Good Riddance AD, Glad your gone, we don't need someone that is just playing because someone (Kiffin) has promised him something. and Tell your dad to take his season tickets and shove them up his azz. he needs to grow a pair and tell his little baby to grow up.

It is illegal so it is a problem. It is a rule that if not followed creates problems for the team as well. Personal feelings about the product have nothing to do with the reality of breaking the law and NCAA rules.

It's illegal in Tennessee. Not in many states. So it's a drug problem here but not in California?

Wow. Y'all are harsh. He will probably end up at Boise State, UNLV, Rutgers, or some other random school that doesn't mesh with any of your conspiracy theories. Everyone was pretty confident he was quitting to start a rapping career, that he has a drug problem, etc.

The kid just wants to transfer. No big deal. And I think it's sad how message board rumors get back to players and players' families like this.

not sure what this kid's deal is, but it looks like he has issues far deeper than football. Can't imagine why anyone would want to turn there back on their hometown, all their friends, family, and a great opportunity to play at a place where everyone loves you. Seems like he is def. running from something.....

After reading these comments, I don't even want to read the article. Seems like he needs to get over himself. He is not bigger than the program. No one is...
