Aaron Douglas found dead (confirmed)

I can't imagine anything worse for his family. Prayers for David, Karla and the little sister.

"I have a dream in the process of becoming a reality.... Very #Thankful for my situation!!!! Alabama Football player #77."

-Top of AD's twitter page. Spooky how words affect us when they are posthumous.

Man, it's crazy to think just a few years ago I was hanging out with Aaron and he had everything in the world going for him. It's terrible what's happened to him these past few years my prayers go out to the Douglas family during this awful time.

Sad day... Prayers to the Douglas family... Absolutely awful, I have lost more than a few friends over the years to addiction and from experience, these are the hardest deaths to take because they are/were so preventable...

I'd say you can call it officially confirmed. It is popping up all over news and sports news sites.

sad very sad.

A parent burying a child is the worst kind of pain. How they die is irrelevant. I hate this for the Douglas family.

I couldn't imagine. Until you've been a parent you just don't completely understand it.

Ainge--this is what he was flirting with and he knew it. He was able to look in the mirror and get it turned around, just as we should have all hoped AD would do. Therapy doesn't matter, rehab doesn't matter. Until the person looks in the mirror and makes the decision on their own, addiction will take over.

my heart goes out to the family and friends. always sad to see someone die, for whatever unfortunate reason. cause of death?

Condolences to the Douglas family and friends. Very sad story. Rest in Peace, Aaron.

Just now getting online today. This was something I was not expecting to see. Hated the way he left the Vols. Hate even more the way he left this earth. Damn. RIP AD.

It will be a long time before I forget what he looked like out there playing for Maryville. Just a man among boys...even as a junior. Having him as a receiving option almost wasn't even fair for the other team in the red zone.

Saw this thread earlier and just dismissed it assuming it would just turn out a rumor. Hate that I was wrong. The kid was talented as hell. Very sad.

When they are over 18, they are an adult and they can do what they want. His family was limited in what they could do to try and help him.

AWC Coach Tom Minnick said: "There was a lot of pressure on him because the Tennessee fans had called him a traitor. Words had hurt him."

Now we have AD's JUCO coach trying to pass blame onto UT fans for AD's death. AD had been dealing with his personal demons long before he left UT and even since arriving at Tuscaloosa. That dog doesn't hunt.
